WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

I posted this way back during SDCC and that Whedon was stepping down but no one was entertaining the idea.

Now that the films going to be semi-political and Russo doing so well in in Cap2, many will probably be more open to the idea.
Oh. I never heard of the rumor until today. I'd be fine with it. Visually, Cap 2 was better than Avengers, so I wouldn't mind if they take over.

Man I'm hype! Like many I would like to see all the characters from the comic book on screen but i know it wont happen . Whats this talk about Marvel possibly getting/borrowing Spiderman? Spiderman plays a huge role in Civil War but they would have to get an older Peter Parker to be in the movie cause it just wouldn't work with the teenage Peter.
Would Tobey Maguire come back ? lol.

Glad that Marvel got Punisher back too. He had a dope role in Civil War as well. Personally If these new shows do well, Id have the same actors in the Civil War movie with smaller roles that way you already have the established actor's/characters in the movie.

Wonder if they'll just go with Marvel: Civil War or stick with Avengers : __________

Andrew Garfield is 31 years old. He's a perfect younger spiderman and a perfect seasoned spiderman. I'm almost positive marvel will keep Garfield and what Sony established with the ASM series and just have it to where spiderman has been around. I don't get why people are so keen on insisting Marvel has to reboot spiderman and do it their way. Sony's ASM is established right now and wouldn't do Marvel any justice having to introduce a new face for Peter Parker in a film where they'll already be introducing new heroes to the big screen that will also most likely be explained as already existing. Marvel isn't going to be telling 20 different origin stories in this civil war film and civil war consists of many marvel character that have yet to even be mentioned in the MCU. Yes it's going to happen. Part of the magic of the film will be seeing Garfield as his spiderman and him and the ASM series being part of the MCU the whole time when Marvel tells it.....and watching the general public backtrack on their opinion of the ASM series especially ASM 2. I def remember saying this would happen too.......

Honestly at this point, the rumor is just titles of "Civil War" and "Last Son" to be used and chances are the story will only be slightly based off of it, don't expect to see too much similarities in it, at least not at this point.

Remember Age of Ultron is just a title and outside of Ultron, chances are that is all the similarities the film with have with the book.

And why are some of you even so sure Spidey is coming to Marvel.

I'm not going to believe anything unless Marvel or Feige officially? Even the source who heard the "rumor" says to take it with a grain of salt.

While I can’t get the confirmations I need to verify the story, I’m hearing that there are some very cool “Spider-Man” plans being discussed that would help Sony refocus their enormously important franchise while also opening up some connections in the onscreen Marvel movie universe that would blow fandom’s minds. Will it work out? I don’t know. I would love to be able to state for sure that it’s happening. What seems clear from what I’ve heard is that Marvel wants to be able to play with all of their characters, and if they can make that work creatively and on a corporate level, they will, and that means the world gets bigger again.

You don't do a movie to a mini series that spiderman is predominant in, release a civil war picture to coincide with a rerelease/ retelling/ continuation of the comic or whatever it will be with spiderman on the picture and then not include him in the movies. And then the rumor that Sony and Marvel teaming to add Spiderman to the MCU conveniently coming out a week before this. Contracts were in the background getting signed left and right while we were speculating. Civil war is happening. Get ready for all the non comic heads to be the main ones chanting they're team iron man or team captain America. Get ready for Andrew Garfield in the iron spider suit.....get ready for Planet Hulk

Of course you do, Age of Ultrons main character was Wolverine and here we are with an AoU movie.

You just hallucinating again just like when you proclaimed ASM2 a masterpiece.

And stop with the rumor crap like stuff were being signed behind the scenes. Show me proof before start stating that ish like its facts. Nothing more asinine in just believing in rumors and then translating them like facts on forums. That source can't even be confirmed and one news snowballing to a bigger and bigger news... yeah that never happens!

I am not saying it isn't going to happen but I am going to have to hear/read it from a more valid source to buy it.

Now I hate to toot my own horn
But I called the planet hulk thing
Just sayin way back in that other thread and subsequent threads

marvel has all its movies planed for the next 5 years, it would be ages before they came out with a spiderman movie if they got the character back

and if they did they would recast him to make sure no movie goer will think that the garbage spiderman movies are a part of the MCU

its not like marvel needs spiderman anyways, it would make the fans happy but it would hardly bring in any new fans. i doubt theres a single person that has seen a spiderman movie that didnt go to avengers

Plans change. If they got him back, he would be included in some way. Guaranteed.

I am not even sure why you guys would think Marvel would adapt the story closely from the books?

Some of you guys expecting a page for page adaptation when Marvel hasn't had a history of doing that.

it'll likely be very loosely based off the books and we're really going to have to see the fallout of AoU before actually gauging where things will go.

never forget :smh:

I still don't know what they were thinking when they green lit that move, wth was the point of even having a story line with a fake Mandarin, I swear when they threw that curveball I wanted to walk out the movie theater...never felt more disrespected watching a movie...lol

All this interest in adapting a disappointing storyline with a terrible ending. *shrugs*

Cicil War always struck me as lets sell some action figures but hey this what yall want.

Stop it rfx45 rfx45 nothing I'm saying is a stretch of the imagination. We've already established that Sony and Marvel are on good terms and worked with Marvel on Guardians. That alone will tell you Sony is willing to make this spiderman thing happen and doing a story line that is centralized on Iron Man Captain America and Spiderman is only fueling the flame. You were saying the same thing months ago when I was saying that marvel will do a civil war movie and everyone swore that an avengers 3 would happen and Thanos was the end villain. Look how that turned out. We don't know what capacity thanos will be in future films now but a civil war film is happening before anything infinity gauntlet related. Guess I was spreading rumors back then. And you think RDJ just got called to sign that contract for Cap 3 this week? Promise you this has been in talks since Cap 2 broke the box office.

What are the odds of Nick Fury getting killed this film? Doubt a secret invasion film would happen and I would imagine his death would fuel the need for the super human registration act.... Lemme stop though I'm spreading rumors again

That dont mean anything at all until all these rumors are confirmed. You are talking out of your a** and all im saying is stop acting like its all facts already.

Again I am not saying its impossible so no one is saying your opinion is too much of a stretch, i clearly said that. It could ver well happen but your getting your panties wet like Garfield is already filming with RDJ and Evans.

And Thanos was a guess and even with all these rumors, Thaos is still the end villain. Rumors been that the team will separate and then return for the big threat which is obviously Thanos. And if were going to go by what was "said", I am sure you can trace back in this forum back right when Avengers was announced that I said a Civil War film will be great. I probably even wrote a scenario and write around Spidey not being with Marvel. So dont act like Civil War was purely your idea.

Cicil War always struck me as lets sell some action figures but hey this what yall want.

The miniseries has a lot of undertones and it let the reader decide who was good and who was bad. It's a great way for marvel to shes from there quick witted campy hero films and allow there super heroes to represent different ideologies when it comes to freedom and world policing while at the same time setting up dream matches like who would win in a fight _______ vs. ________ I've always thought civil war was am amazing mini series though. Spiderman being stuck in the middle was extremely dope storytelling too. He represents marvel and has the most to gain and lose with revealing his secret identity. A nice medium between Roger's lust for freedom and Stark's moral compass when it comes to accountability

Another movie worthy waiting for. I bet it's going to be as good and maybe better than the first one. Extremely excited for this.

Saw that the thread jumped a little bit. Thought some rumors must've been confirmed. Ain't nothing new hit the Internet

*edit

The Russo brothers possibly doing A3 and A4?

=(

That's all of the events though. It's always about selling merch. The first event was specifically based on that.

The quality of Civil War definitely varies from person to person. It being Marvel's highest selling comic (next to AvX) is probably good enough reason for the movies to loosely adapt it.

Yeah this Spiderman talk with absolutely nothing to stand on is tiring.
