WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

I was talking about Gunn saying Thanos wasn't a part of GOTG 2. my bad if the format of the reply isn't organized

Well he could be lying, and he doesn't have to be. Remember he doesn't have all the gems/stones yet, and the films before A3 could place them in his possession. And in A3, he could be coming to Earth for the last one or whatever. A3 could have the heroe's fighting against each other and all that, and once Thanos comes down and does his thing, they all band together and defeat him for the time being.
I don't disagree with that but A3 simply isn't big enough to contain all of that.. I think you'll see the very beginning of his strike and probably see him destroy a lot of minor/side characters just to show his power.

I truly believe A4 (or infinity gauntlet) is when the 'band' gets back together with the Guardians coming to Earth too.

If they go A3 May, 2018 and A4: Infinity Gauntlet May, 2019 what are the two movies inbetween the two? I hate thinking this far ahead because at this point we haven't even seen **** from AoU

Whenever a movie is split into two they've always been filmed back to back and the turnaround is only a yr at the most. It'd be the same if they end up going the splitting A3 into two movies route (with Thanos being in the second half). So we wouldn't have to wait till 2021.

I do agree that 2021 would be too long to bring out Thanos as the main villain. That'd be almost a decade wait for fans.

I just can't imagine Thanos being stretched until A4. That would be a terrible decision. We get Thanos is ultra powerful and all that, but I don't think many have the patience to wait a decade before we get a full appearance.

The Defenders group up could be a movie. BP could be another.

It hasn't been confirmed yet, but why is this a surprise either way?

He got $50M for Avengers. This move is genius for him considering how a) Cap 2 did well and b) RDJ will be in it, which means more $. He probably saw how much Avengers made and wanted a piece of the box office profits.

I'd be doing the same if I were in his spot. He wasn't exactly looked upon positively 10 years ago. Kudos to his agent/team.

It wont make so much extra to warrant being paid 8x as much as the star

Apparently they screened footage of AoU at NYCC.. Mostly the same stuff except for a montage of Hulk fighting different Avengers (including Vision)

this thread jumped a bit! It would make sense of they took a break from cap after cap3 and focus on some other titles and bring him back for avengers 4 and not include him in avengers 3....

Thanos gonna come down and destroy half the planet. Cap hawkeye and widow gonna die. Then Scarlet witch gonna throw some hexes around all willy nilly and bring everybody back, get rid of Thanos, spiderman appears along with the new xmen (some depowered) everybody meets up at Tony's house to sort things out over Shwarma

Pym tries to fix the depowered mutants and accidently creates Marvel Zombies and in stumbles Rick and Darryl

Book it.Trillions will be made.

I also think this is a way of combating the bubble burst that we've all been expecting.. most of people's complaints have been that the solo films are inconsequential to the overall plot... After you introduce this EVERY films has to deal with it one way

People now are speculating that A3 is going to be the new team assembling/dealing with the registration act fall out (probably fighting other heroes) and A4 will be Thanos attack once all the heroes are 'weak' causing the team to reassemble with Hulk and Thor coming back to earth..

I don't know about that. They're not stretching Thanos to A4. What I've read and believe is going to happen is A2 is the start of the rift with the team, Cap 3 starts the fallout between Cap & Tony, and A3 will include the new roster, the old team, and the guardians vs Thanos, which may be split into two films.
if it's split into two films the 2nd one will have to be A4 (contractually).
They could just call it Avengers 3: InfinityGauntlet/Thanos Rising/Civil War pt.1 and then the 2nd movie just be pt. 2.

Right?

I know contractually if they split into movies 3a and 3b,3b would be considered a 4th and separate movie for anyone under contract so whoever isn't signed up beyond Avengers 3 would actually need to renegotiate.

The best thing marvel could've done was take a break from the infinity gems. Civil War tears a rift in the Marvel universe. Alliances formed, former friends betrayed by each other, damaged caused and just when all the heroes and the world are recovering from this Thanos goes out to collect the gems himself. Glad they went with civil war first, it gives them a way to add to Marvel's roster for a bigger battle.

Meanwhile Batman and superman haven't teamed up yet....

I still think they should go planet hulk and WW hulk after the big showdown with thanos..

have hulk go wild a bit and turn on a couple of the avengers.. then you kinda see the dark side of tony turning on guys, so they decide that it's best for everyone that hulk just go away

then after ww hulk you can do the civil war.. because then you have the big blowout where everyone wants all the super heroes to make themselves known.. bits were already shown at the end of avengers (then you have the senate hearings in iron man 2)

Yes.

Marvel was smart to hook people with the gem gimmick after an interest was shown and then switch over to more political themes. I think going into the MCU with a light touch and then intensifying the themes in the movies was brilliant. I don't know if it was intentional or happenstance, but with the way the Russo brothers talk about Feige, it seems he has an outline that the films must follow.

A lot of credit goes to the directors and it is well deserved, but Feige is a damn genius for the way he's orchestrated the plan.

The stone theme is/was becoming too predictable and if they keep on that path it becomes obvious and pressing how it must end. To expand the MCU into other areas that aren't expected is a wise move.

was originally just going to have to do 3 weeks of shooting and wasn't going to make that much so his people started lobbying for more screen time, Disney head ordered for him to be removed from the Script then Feige got him to change his mind and meet RDJ's demands  dude has so much juice at Marvel

I think Evans only gets like 5 million for Cap 3 and bonuses if it hits certain box office numbers lol

The fact that Evans is only making 5M and RDJ 40M for a CAPTAIN 'MURICA movie would make for a great onscreen fall out, I'd be tiiiighhhtttt if someone else making that much more in my own film

Lamekilla, you make a great point.

Stretching out the meeting of Thanos gives Marvel more of a chance to add heroes to their roster via solo movie debuts, etc for him to battle against

You bring out Thanos too soon and he won't have enough ppl to fight

I would have to think that those numbers aren't real. RDJ can't make ten times more than Evans in his own movie...

The whole reason for WWH was a preamble to CW to take Hulk off the chess board. You'd pretty much have to give a different reason for PH and WHH if you did it in reverse unless you're having heroes betraying Hulk before CW, have him come back for revenge, and then they go on to have a rift with each other in CW.

Just to clarify, are we confirmed on RDJ in Cap 3, papers signed and everything, or still just industry rumors to this point?

as I see it.. you have hulk sent off in an extra credit scene for the 3rd avengers movie, which basically is the beginning for PH.. or do the opening of PH, with the recording of tony talking to hulk while he's on the spaceship being shipped off about him being a danger to everyone yada yada (like in the animated movie)

you see during the individual movies that the decision doesn't sit will and you see tensions starting to grow amongst those who agreed and didn't agree with the decision to send him off (this could be slight mentions or little fights and stuff)..

then you have WWH, which obviously cause huge destruction to the world again.. and this time you have one of the supposed heroes, the hulk, as the enemy.. so to the public at large they are just seeing super heroes fight super heroes (since hulk would have saved them in avengers, AOU and thanos movie)

so this leads to the outcry for the superhuman registration act.. and you can still take hulk off the board because let's say he shows restraint and leaves at the end of WWH just wanting to be at peace or some BS

Upon further research I retract my 5 million for Evans statement lol.. It looks like he got 5 for Cap 2 plus incentive bonuses. And it looks like those bonuses help boost the payday for their next solo films.

It's probably in the 8-12 range for Captain America 3 but again, I don't know  Hemsworth looks like the least paid from the "Big 3" since his films make the least money

Then there'd have to be a ton of new heroes introduced throughout those movies and they'd have to put an emphasis on secret IDs cuz the Hulk who damn near everybody knows is Bruce Banner (not that it matters with Hulk since he's not a superhero the same way as the others) to have ppl crying for a superhero registration act if it's based off of what the Hulk does in WWH.

Also there'd still have to be more to WWH or Tony's reasons. Cuz if tensions arise from Tony deciding on his own to send Hulk away then when he comes back for revenge it basically turns to why are we fighting to protect this idiot Stark? They could just give him up if they're smart or is Hulk irrational and wanting to kill everybody? Like I'd find it weird that they were willing to save Tony from Hulk but then they'll split up over this registration stuff and fight over it based off what Hulk did.

Like someone mentioned, the issue that divides the team doesn't necessarily have to be able secret identities.

It doesn't have to be the good guys that ship Hulk off. Maybe it's the government. Maybe it's Ultron.

I'm sure some heard about the DC news. Somebody post it in the BVS thread, I'm on mobile.
