WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

i mean talk about weakest evil plan for a villain in movie history... spiderman had to give everything he had to stop django from......... turning the lights off in NYC

they had to throw in that scene with the plane about to crash or something (i honestly dont remember) just to show why the power going off would be such a bad thing

that combined with both bad guys turning evil for no reason at all :smh:

GOTG was great because they focused on making a great movie. ASM2 was trash because they didnt care about making a good movie, they just wanted to set up all the sequels and spinoffs

Guardians had no action. They turned drax into a punching bag, rocket cried more than he fired a gun (yes I will keep mentioning this until it sticks) and they turned Ronan the Accuser into someone who is easily distracted by dance moves from Chris Pratt. ASM2 had its shortcomings but the fact that Guardians gets overlooked from all if it's own is hilarious. The best part of the film was Thanos. I don't think anyone would disagree with me, yet that says a ton about the film seeing as that happened 45 mins in....................................

What does this even mean?

The Guardians of the Galaxy, the comic book characters, were a lot more interesting when they were lesser known characters by the average public and amongst Marvel Comic fans as opposed to being advertised everywhere. As a comic fan first, I take great pleasure in actually knowing who Star-Lord was in 2010 and still sticking to my guns from then til now in how lame they were. Box office smash hit and all.

Son is just salty. He was hating on Guardians before he even saw it. Then basically confirmed his bias after he saw it.

The statement he just made was on some hipster steez though.

Zik, stop. I was THE BIGGEST advocate for the GotG film as soon as the comic-com trailer leaked in 2013. You can ask rfx45 rfx45 I called the movie a certified classic before we even had an official preview. This is when everyone was calling that the film would be corny due to Peter Quill rolling up his middle finger in the nova corp line up. The guardians were corny to me but I thought it had the makings of a great film and would do great things for the MCU and audiences would eat it up. I was right about everything, but to my amazement I was completely turned off by the film. I was ready for a film where everyone had a strong sense of the galaxy and the world around them minus Quill and he'd be a fish out of water character banding with rag tag galactic fugitives and getting into trouble. Instead I got a film where everyone holds hands to beat the bad guy. Teamwork! :D :rolleyes

Also for anyone interested in the GotG Blu-Ray Amazon is letting you preorder it for $25. As usual they will give it to you for the lowest price advertised between when you order and when it is released.

EDIT: It will also have an avengers 2 preview
Who ******* knows. He already said he hated the Guardians Comic a while back.

Yes blotters you recall me expressing my dislike for the guardians but I'm not biased. I'm not to fond of marvel's galactic side. They have some decent characters ( I love Gladiator :wow: ) but a lot of whimsical **** going on on that side. I need realistic things like radioactive spiders, gamma irradiated scientist, X genes. The cool stuff  jokes

All my talking and I'm still gonna get Guardians on Blu-Ray :rolleyes I need it for the collection

As time goes on, this schedule that came out around SDCC and was called "fake" is starting to seem more legit. :nerd:

What if it was leaked?

Marvel didn't have much to say about the leak list. Something along the lines of "who would play such a cruel joke on people" or something like that.

....they got figured out :nerd:

Im just saying it is weird that you express your dislike for Guardians comic, say you don't like Gunn's humor, and say that you hope Guardians is indeed one and done then hate the movie as much as you do saying "it aint even the best movie of phase 2" as one of your reasons

But it isn't the best phase 2 movie.

Basically when I say **** like this about DCCU I expect fully to get torched with the way I slander DCs lame *** characters. Which means I will have to pay see these movies early on to tell everyone how much they sucked

THANK YOU!

But I do feel as though Thor 2 is a tad bit underrated

But I

So how does this opinion make GotG a bad movie?

Iron Man3 had the makings to be so epic. My face looked like wee beys when they totally butchered the movie halfway thru.

Guardians isn't worthy of the praise it gets when Cap 2 completely ***** all over that film from beginning to end. No Thanos, Celestials, infinity gems, Michael Jackson kicks or Howard the duck necessary.

Don't worry about the DC slander. I got kicked out of the BvS thread about 6 months ago >D

I really thought they were gonna give the extremis arc justice :smh: Marvel knew everyone was still on hard from Avengers and just threw doo-doo on a screen starring Robert Downey Jr.

the way his suits held up in IM3 i wouldnt be surprised if cap is able to rip tony's arm off while he's in a suit

I'd like to see Cap back up his words in Avengers. I never realized how different Cap and Tony are character-wise. In a battle, Tony would win though right?

As for those teaser pics. I only see 3 that were confirmed before it; AOU, Ant Man, and Doctor Strange. As far as I know, Cap3 isn't subtitled Fallen Son, same for the GotG sequel being War of Kings, or a WWH movie, or Avengers 3 specifically having the subtitle of Civil War. Same for Thor Ragnarok.

Not buying it b. Once everybody started ******** on ASM2 for the unorganized randomly bad trash it mostly was you were mad and just basically took it out on Guardians with ridiculous nitpicking that you basically admitted you were copying from what you called nitpicking in the ASM2 thread  Nothing but bias. You was gonna start doing that to Cap2 when everybody said it was better but knew that was a losing battle.

So excuse me when I simply dismiss your posts about Guardians when you're constantly hating on it by saying "eww" like a 13 yr old girl with braces any time it's brought up.

I can't but laugh when you say Guardians had no action it  It's like you never saw a space movie before while at the same time you'll hype up that lame Green Goblin fight :smh: :x or the weak end against the Rhino.

You say these things then defend spidey 2 to death. You are not serious. I mean you simply can't be.

That would mean almost every superhero movie is trash by that standard

What's great about this exchange is that Tony was right as well. Steve wasn't **** without that serum.

Caps whole character is built on the fact he has heart, integrity, intelligence, leadership, etc. Without the serum he still the same person, but without the super strength.

Get outta here. Yeah I nitpicked at guardians because of ASM2 slander but it was merely a comparison. People complained about one thing in ASM2 and overlooked it in guardians and I just asked why. To each it's own but I can point out many things flawed in Guardians as well as many things flawed in ASM2 but only the latter will stick. Can you say Guardians had more action then ASM2? Hell no you can't, but ASM2 get slandered for being too much love story not enough action. :rolleyes that scene where gamora is about to suffocate in space? What the **** was that? Corny that what that was

Cap 2 isn't the standard for superhero films, Avengers is. Are you ready to say Guardians was better than Cap 2 so I can give you the  ?

That whole convo was foreshadowing of Tony and Steve's different ideologies when it comes to their talents. There love/hate relationship is always prevelant

Caps whole character is built on the fact he has heart, integrity, intelligence, leadership, etc. Without the serum he still the same person, but without the super strength.

That's the unique thing about Tony Stark. He takes his role as a superhero more serious than his counterparts that actually have superpowers. He undermines everyone because he bought way his way into an elite club. He gets a good *** whoopin in civil war

Gotta find the article again (I read it last night) but Avengers 2, unsurprisingly, has the highest count of VFX shots out of all the marvel movies so far with 3000.

What's also not surprising is GotG 2 has the second highest count with 2750.

What is surprising is the 3rd highest count didn't belong to Avengers 1. Cap 2 maxed out at 2500.

Avengers 2 CGI wise is gonna be breathtaking. Between Scarlet and Quicks powers Ultron, and the Hulkbuster alone. The film should blow everyone away.

I am shocked about Cap 2 though. That movie was more grounded in realism and the only thing that seemed CG heavy was the triskelion and the Helicarriers/ Quinnjets

Not falling for any of this. You just salty and a hater. Those many flaws would just be more bull ****, save it.

I'd question intelligence but that other stuff really aint worth **** as a superhero or in a war. Son would've died a frail virgin without the serum.

The man was the only one to jump on a live grenade (or at least everyone thought it was) in Cap 1. That was before the serum, and If it was a real grenade, that would've saved lives. I'd say that's worth something in a war

in the films most crucial moment even stark turned to the captain for leadership

All I ask is you point out some of Guardians flaws some of the time. The film does have flaws right?

And the thing that makes cap special is his fighting spirit. The serum didn't give him heart

Exactly. Cap is the peak of human performance but he always carries the humility of a frail man who is eager to prove himself.

I loved the fact that Whedon was able to center on Tony Stark for audiences who had familiarized themselves with the MCU through iron man but catered to the comic fans and let the audiences know that when it's time for battle there's only one avenger who is giving the orders.

In A2 will def be hearing Cap's legendary battle cry "Avengers Assemble!" :nthat:
