WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

My initial impression was that it was going to be hard to choose between this and A1. But after the second viewing I got to put this ahead of A1.

I'm not understanding how some ppl are putting this behind WS because this movie was basically WS on steroids.

This movie was an excuse for them to fight no matter no absurd the reason.

I mean for every point you raised yesterday we gave you an answer

You really thought Zemo could've emailed Tony the video at the beginning of the movie and call it a day

Then when we explained why he couldn't have done that, you then said he didn't need the video at all. Just text IM where to find it, you said.

Just seems like you were just looking to poke holes at the movie from the jump.

I give no ****s about box office--especially when it comes to Marvel

DC and Fox CBMs are likely basing their future decisions on the the financial outcomes of their properties (BvS and Deadpool), but Marvel already has Phase Three planned out, we know what movies will come out and when, and it's a given that they will profit from these movies.

So it's a redundant topic to me.

Movie is projected to cross 700 worldwide tomorrow.

My guess is 1.5 bill before it's all said and done. Not bad not bad :pimp:

Am I the only person that thinks its weird people care about box office numbers?

I mean I understand if those numbers decide if another movie is coming out but its strange to me people care that a movie makes a lot of money. Like they ain't giving you a cut and the more money a movie makes the more special interests the sequels have to serve.

It's quite simple bro. I care about box office numbers cuz I want to see good movies. I want studios to be rewarded for putting out quality cuz if they notice that movies make the same money despite discrepancy in quality than they'll be OK with shoveling fans whatever and call it a day.

If Marvel's top movies were to make the same money as Fox or DC then they'll adjust the quality of their movies accordingly.

And you were making this movie this greatest thing since sliced bread before it ever came out

There is no correlation between modern blockbuster quality and box office numbers.

Well that's just not true.

Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Iron Man 3.

That Avengers hype was too real with Iron Man 3...we all bought into it

Transformers is the biggest exception to the rule. Plus China really helped that movie out. It couldn't even gross 300 domestically over here. Transformers would need to hire a Chinese actor and film in China again to get that same boost.

Turtles didn't even gross 500 WW.

IM3 was riding the coattails of the first Avengers movie and it was also pretty well received critically. Obviously to fans like me it was garbage though.

In general there is a big correlation with quality and box office numbers. BvS was on pace for a 1.5 billion box office with the first opening day and then it trailed off. You got Deadpool which was a 58 budget movie outgrossing it domestically.

I don't want marvel to not be rewarded for their efforts cuz then it'll mean they won't work as hard for subsequent projects. Feel me?

That's just the way business b. It's why the Knicks always suck cuz they know they going to be making the same money whether they good or bad. Lakers under their new regime be the same way. Chicago might just be in F it mode too now. :frown:

Sorry for the sports talk but it was the first thing I though of as a comparison.

Thor 2 made more than Winter Soldier.

If you put together a list of box office grosses and quality of film especially within the comic book genre there is no correlation between rank and quality.

Seeing that Civil War is the best Captain America film, Avengers film...and Spiderman film, the ranking goes

1.) Civil War
2.) Civil War
3.) Civil War
4.) AoU
5.) Winter Soldier

And I care about Box office because I want Feige and the actors to be rewarded with big pay days. We couldn't have gotten performances like we did if these guys weren't expecting this film to do numbers.

I LOVE THIS FILM

Yea I want the infinity war movies to be out of this world. The more money previous movies make the more likely it'll happen. The worse thing that can happen right now is marvel seeing that movies are making less despite putting out higher quality movies (from their earlier efforts)

That happens and they're just not going to try as hard or invest as much money.. That's just the reality of it. This is a business.

So yeaaa I do got a stake. In terms of wanting to see great movies in the future, I definitely got a stake!

I didn't think the suit looked that good. Especially in the shot where starks told Peter to go home. Not a fan of the big black lines on the arms. They don't flow with the rest of the costume.

They are the ones who need to make changes

Unfortunately transformers and tnmt makes a crap ton of money

I don't understand where we're getting tmnt made a ton of money. I checked and they didn't cross 500 mil. But I'm sure they made some kind of profit cuz they kept costs down at 125. Plus there's a sequel.
