WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

I said it in the other thread, Sony is so out if touch they don't even realize who Stan Lee is in regards to Marvel. Bill gates ain't wrote code since the 80s you gonna call that guy to make you some software?

You never know this could lead eto some changes with sony.

it has to.
Speculation is already starting about the Japanese Heads firing entire departments. With the way that company's being run they need new people making decisions.

They are not firing the bosses tho.

"Currently, approximately $1B in production spending can be expected to deliver $500M-$600M in profits.
Through his continued focus on financial discipline, Doug hopes to improve that ratio to a point where $800-$900M in production spending delivers $500-$600M in profits. "

In reference to the movie Pixels:
"Doug successfully negotiated with the producers to get Kevin James to accept less compensation and to reduce the production budget to approximately $38M"

"Doug artfully negotiated with the producers to reduce the production budget to $110M and through his own network of contacts secured the required co-financing"

In reference to firing 230 employees to outsource special effects work to China
"Because of Bob’s extraordinary focus on cost management, Imageworks is expected to generate $7M in EBIT (before restructuring) in FY15 despite a 30% reduction in revenue"

Top management got praised for firing all those poeple. Trust me there are more to come.

Wow. Sony leaked emails are crazy.

"Are you aware that Men In Black 3 may gross $600M at the box office, and yet will lose money for SPE? Shouldn't we question that strategy? Why are some studios making Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Twilight - and we are considering movies like Moneyball, Steve Jobs story, Captain Phillips Story, Evel Knievel story, etc. Are you aware that SPE only has 1 franchise - Spiderman. Yet, it took 5 years to generate a sequel? Spidey 3 was released in summer 2007, #4 in 2012. Don't harry potters come out over 2-3 years? Are you aware that SPE has only 1 franchise - Spidey? Yet we waited 5 years after Spidey 3 (2007) to release #4? Have you read the SEC annual report? Disney will make $300M on Spidey merchandise this year alone. We won't!"

Sony clearly wants to make Disney money but don't know how to. That's probably y they been guarding Spidey so crazy

The Sony heads aren't comic heads, that makes all the difference.

You have to have an executive who's a fan of the genre at the helm.

Kevin Feige is a huge fan boy, so it was smart for him to have control over at Marvel.

John Lasseter is pretty passionate about animated movies, which is why Pixar was so successful. Not a coincidence that Disney started making good animated movies again when he made his return to Disney animation

Whoever is up in Sony right now probably doesn't give two ***** about comic books except wanting to make money off of it

What all do Sony own the rights to aside from Spider-Man?

Not just comic wise.. But what else could they turn into something?

SONY considering kicking off a SPIDER-MAN reboot with the "Kraven’s Last Hunt” storyline! pic.twitter.com/k8lpkJzYjN

I'm really shocked a God of War movie wasn't done
They've had a really hard time developing video game films because of Avi Arad and his tinkering.

Had Wahlberg and O'Russell attached to Uncharted, had God Of War in preproduction but stopped after 300 came out..

Pretty much every major Playstation IP that has come out in the last 10 years has entered some stage of development and got shelved after producers got attached and started messing with the talent. As a company they don't value story telling and go by the old thought process of "these movies are just to sell merch"

They lose out on all the bidding wars on popular books.. Spider-Man and Bond are pretty much all they have

Just how credible is Superhero Feed because a lot of times they post stuff without a source and literally no other outlets pick it up.

An Edgar Wright Spider-Man film would be incredible but after spending 8(?) years on Ant-Man i don't know how quickly he'd be ready to jump back into the mix

Another Spidey reboot? It's not like fans were so opposed to reboots that ASM made 140M less than Spidey 3 or anything.

Just when I was excited to see the property possibly going back to Marvel and I dont even like spidey like that.

They dumb if they reboot. Just change the cast and keep going.

Don't even think they'll do a Kraven's Last Hunt movie justice.

I think an Edgar Wright Spidey flick would be a bit weird and not welcomed anymore than these ASM movies money wise but it'd probably be a bit better quality wise.

Javier Bardem has always been my first choice for Kraven..

Jeffrey Dean Morgan or joe manganiello would be cool too

By the looks of it he'd be moving more into a godfather role for the Television side and possibly help develop Runaways

Really? =/ Well at least there's The Runaways

Btw I just learned the Russos only directed Cap 2, so who wrote the script for that?

*edit

Oh. Idk who they are

They've done some of the best Community and Arrested Development episodes.. Weird to see them go from that to this but they're 1-0 so far.

The writers for Cap 2 (and 3) did the Narnia flicks, Cap 1 and Thor 3
