WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

Let's just agree that regardless of who comes first, this has to happen

Nobody knew who the **** Star Lord was. 99% of people went into that theater and watched "Andy from Parks and Rec in Space" and the movie was a critical and commercial smash.

His last name is morales but you guys call him black?

...because his last name is Spanish he isn't black?

Well, why couldn't parker and morales both be spiderman at the same time and both be in avengers? Or did parker retire / die and the other guy took over?

I would prefer to see the original guy as the character first, then whoever else plays him after. I like stuff in chronological order.

Parker came back to life but retired anyway. Miles is the only Spider-Man on Earth 1610.

They aren't active together in the comics, and it would be weird for them to be together in movies. One of them would have to be the sidekick.

just saw the movie, pretty bummed that the leaked spider-man footage wasn't legit  but was anyone else bothered by Cap not wearing his helmet for the end fight scene? :rolleyes

In terms of Marvel events, Civil War is trash anyways fam, so don't feel bad.
Any other story arcs you would recommend?

So far I've finished
Infinity Gauntlet
Infinity War
Civil War

Planet Hulk, Demon in a Bottle, Days of Future Past, Daredevil: Born Again, Secret War, The Night Gwen Stacy Died, Dark Phoenix Saga, Age of Apocalypse, Mutant Massacre, The Kang Dynasty, Future Imperfect, X-Men The Twelve....Hmmm, Spider Island was a recent Spider-Man event that I liked and the status quo of it was shaped from what happened to him right after/at the end of Civil War, which was One More Day. (Wouldn't reccomend it, didn't like it, but it again, like Civil War does for the greater universe, shapes Spider-Man's world going forward) One More Day then leads into Brand New Day, and every Spider-Man event from the last few years happened based on those two.

If you want to go directly after Civil War in terms of the entire MU there's Secret Invasion, Dark Reign and then Siege, though I didn't care for either of the last two all that much. For more X-Men stuff, House of M kicked off the current era of the book, which led to Decimation and everything that's come after has basically just been them recovering. For the Avengers find the Kree/Skrull War and Ultron Unlimited. And honestly that's all quite a bit and should keep you busy for a long time lol

Type in any of the phrases/names I mentioned and you'll find the collected editions fairly easily. Enjoy what you come across.

After the horrible costume Cap had in Avengers 1, I was fine without the mask because the rest of his costume looked awesome

I actually liked that he didn't wear it. If widow and hawkeye don't rock helmets then I dunno why he needs one. His skull is probably tougher than cement.

Appreciate it fam :D

The point with morales is that people already associate Spider-Man with Parker.
People didn't know who starlord was to begin with so its different. its like ordering your favorite food then having it suddenly taste different when you associate it with a certain taste vs just trying something for the first time.

Civil War

House of M is dope
If you like darker comics the Messiah Complex trilogy is dope
Cable Vol 3 is dope
Uncanny X-Force Vol 1 is dope. Don't bother with any X-Force titles after that
Days of Future past is only two issues. Definitely recommend
Phoenix and Dark Phoenix Sagas
Age of Apocalypse if you are really serious about it. It's a lengthy one tho
Mutant Massacre
Daredevil: The Man Without Fear

Thanks!

Did Civil War start filming yet? I can only imagine the Marvel offices debating heavily on who to cast for Spidey.

SOON.

Wiki says principal photography started in April. My friend is a cameraman and is trying to get a spot to work on the movie.

If you're an X-Men fan you HAVE to read Grant Morrison's New X-Men that ran from like 2001 to 2004.

It's fantastically written and deals with several important Marvel events (like the genocide of 16 million mutants on Genosha).

Also I can't believe nobody recommended Avengers vs X-Men.

Magneto's solo series that began last year is a breath of fresh air. It's great.

Finally, this isn't technically a Marvel comic but you HAVE TO read Invincible. It's written by Rob Kirkman (Walking Dead creator) and published under Image Comics, an imprint of Marvel.

It's over 100 issues in and delivers every month. It's 50x superior to the stale *** Marvel and DC verses.

They did start but I dont think his part in the movie will be long, just important. He wont get more than 45mins of screentime and the movie will likely be 2.5 hours

I did recommend AvX.

I wanted to recommend the Grant Morrison run but I wasnt sure if he wanted to read long titles. I even told him AoA was long if he wanted to get into it.

I didn't reccomend AvX, because similar to most events that deal with superheroes fighting I thought it was farily bad. Agreed on the New X-Men though.

EDIT: Gill Baka Esq. LLC. Gill Baka Esq. LLC. We're getting one, 2019.
