WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

Honestly I am 99% sure it's BP. Because if you read the old comics (which I havent read many) they could easily **** him up and forget to humanize him if they dont have the right team.

my bad, I think the July 2018 Spiderman is the animated one that Columbia/Sony is planning LOL. Spidey got moved forward to 2017 moving BP back to 2018

BP and Captain Marvel are gonna super important for Marvel. The first Major Black and Woman Super Hero films need to be done correctly or the backlash will be immense

Wait...are Sinister 6 and Venom still in development despite all the Spider-man involvement with Marvel Studios now? Because wiki says so. o_o

I know. I dont want to erupt this thread but I think BP being done by a black person is more important than CM being done by a woman. GotG script was done by a woman and neither Nebula or Gamora were fantastically done (though I think they will be much better in Guardians 2). But there are several examples of men making great female characters. And that is not to say a white person cant do a black character right. I just think it is harder until the character is established.

Again my opinion.

I've **** on just about everything Warner Bros has done but they have the right idea with the Aquaman film, the casting of Mamoa was excellent, the redesign really is the right direction for making a character that barely works on the page into making work on screen.

now they just have to write it and find a director and ignore Snyder influence. Easy enough.
Easy to say

I feel like they shoot themselves in the foot too much but I guess this being their first try at a shared universe on film I shouldn't expect them to learn from everybody else's mistakes but just treat them like rookies.

I got no hate for Mamoa and the look but I won't expect anything good. Same way I'm approaching everything else after MOS.
Aquaman's reputation as lame or useless solely stems from Superfriends and people who don't read comics

Same as how Superman's reputation as boring or invincible comes fron 1950s stories, the 1979 movie and people who don't read comics
People's thinking Aquaman is lame stems not just from that but also his look. Bright orange scales is not the look for a superhero or sea king. DC can't even really make the excuse like they ran out of the best colors.

Superman is still pretty boring and I've tried his comics. It just comes down to not finding the character interesting at all. Whether he's invincible or not doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure Johns has recently just made him pretty vulnerable and I still have no desire to pick up the book off of how it looks or what I read in interviews.

Oh I agree.

I don't want to derail but as a Black man I am BEYOND EXCITED for BP. But I am scared they gonna have this dude shucking and jiving on screen, I don't care what Marvel track record is, Hollywood in generals is WORSE.

Look at the dude who directed Bridesmaids hes a straight man, but he just knows how to really capture the female point of view in his movies.

Well it was cited of course on the footnote, but no word since, as of February 2015.

Yeah spidey still has his own cinematic universe and Marvel really only controls the main spidey series. Which is another reason I didnt want spidey. Sony could royally **** up Venom and then we will be stuck with a **** venom that Marvel won't use.

Imagine they screw up Venom twice

You mean because anyone says so right?

The last Sony hacked e-mails about this topic said they were still planning to do this.

Hell when it was announced the next Spidey reboot would have him be apart of the MCU near the end of most articles still had a few lines saying that Sony was still independently planning on making the S6 movie, Venom solo, and a female solo flick.

When some more details about how MCU characters and Spidey would be used it was again implied that while Spidey might get a Cap or IM cameo that might not be the case for any other movies for characters based in Spidey's world.

I assume if they're still doing it that Feige still has his eye on what they're planning and is giving advice even though those other movies aren't going to have him push any other Marvel release dates for this next phase.

I think we should expect news on this after the next Spidey is chosen and we get closer to the next Spidey movie release.

I wasnt too excited for this movie because I thought there would be a high chance that the team would mess him up by dehumanizing him. The leader of a traditional African nation, that is more technologically advanced than the rest of the world, yet has shaky political ties to the west...... That's something that someone with the best intentions whos heart is in the right place could **** up without even realizing.

If she's on board then Im on board.

Thats what I loved about Selma, she mad MLK into a believable human being. Not some mythical force but a guy trying to do the right thing

About what
Some are going to have certain expectations when it come to a BP and CM movie. And they all aren't going to be met. My opinion is that the film may me mostly about Vibranium, others may want it to be about something more important.

When you break it down like this it doesn't sound like a black person has to be involved. Just somebody competent that knows how to balance world building and character development.

If it wasn't for the fact that Wakanda is just a made up place and it's status is pretty much the opposite of even the best countries in Africa plus the whole part where Stan and Jack managed to spinoff tales about him for a decade or so I'd probably be more insistent on somebody black having to write and/or direct this movie.

I have that sort of focus way more on Luke Cage. To me that, especially be a series, needs somebody black crafting the vision.

When Marvel does get the movie right I think it'll fall in line with how they pulled off GotG, executing the plan for Avengers the right way, and how they got the Iron Man origin right. Ignoring the types that have the standards that Cap1 was the best war movie they ever saw though

Of course I know there's that group that's already ready to nitpick and blow **** out of proportion after the movie drops

The toy issue with BW is understandable though because it was so blatantly obvious...but I think that's more of Hasbro's fault for trying to make more $ off Captain America.

Whitewashing characters that are white

Complaining about Dr. Cho being one of the smartest and making one of the most useful inventions ever simply because that invention patches people up

These feminist ******* need to do their research. ScarJo was preggo for the entire shoot except reshoots. They pasted her face on stuntdoubles bodies for the entire movie.
