Not really any different from the Superhuman Registration Act. Having superheroes registered and trained by the government so they can properly use their powers? Great, but then how to make absolutely certain that none of the evil geniuses in the world ever get into the database and leak all of that information?
yeah I guess It's too much to ask the government to for see how having giant robots made by private corporations could be abused.
also pretty sure original sentinals weren't these passive guardians, they were capturing or murdering mutants.
but like I said the US goverment in Marvel is not to be trusted, I mean Weapon X: capturing mutants, forced experimentation to create weapons of mass destruction? I mean that's Nazi type stuff.
So you're saying that you consider it impossible for some of the world's smartest men to hide their backroom deals and creations from the government? Because that's pretty much what the entire world of comics books is founded upon, going far beyond the Sentinels.
All Sentinels are made with the capability to detect and theoretically neutralize Mutants. The originals were the same way, created by Bolivar Trask in response to the rising number of Mutants, should any prove to be dangerous. Trask has a change of heart when he discovers that the X-Men were a shining example of good mutants who wanted to protect humanity just like him.
Weapon X is from the Canadian Govermnet for one thing, but doesn't represent the entirety of it, just like the Super Soldier project doesn't represent the entirety of the U.S. goverment, and the same for the Red Skull representing the German government, etc.
