Do we know if they are doing accents in MCU? Did they ever confirm Wanda and Pietro's accents?

Anyway Idris Elba is Heimdall, Djimon Hounsou is Korath, and John Boyega has a commitment to Star Wars so scheduling might not work. Those were my 3 picks.

There was one I just learned about a few days ago but I forgot his name. He'd have to bulk up tho.

I always imagined that if they go with a black panther movie, if anything, they can go with a T'Challa who grew up African American, and they can make the movie about him going back home to get back in touch with his Wakandan roots.

So that way, no one would have to fake an accent, and I think the getting in touch with his roots angle would be a compelling personal storyline in itself.

I can see it now.

Young T'Challa had to go to America as a kid. Embraced the American way of living. Shunned everything about the way of life back home. Some tragedy happens - maybe his dad dies - he has to go home and reluctantly, he assumes the throne. He learns to embrace Wakanda by the end of the movie, while at the same time saving his country from a villainous threat.

Just send him to America or England (preferably England, more realistic) for boarding school and come back on vacations. Then he would have the American/English accent.
 
Also forgot Chewetel Ejiofor would be a great BP. He is Nigerian and also British. He does an American accent flawlessly. Can even do the New York/New Jersey Blaccent like he did in Four Brothers and American Gangster.

Yup.. Start the movie off win T'chaka as black panther and still king.. Who sent t'challa off to educated (boarding school and collage) realizing wakanda no longer be cut off from the rest of the world
 
If you want to go the boarding school route who comes back to Wakanda on vacations, then pretty much anyone everyone has named are too old.

Well then make it leave for boarding school and university as well. Now you have more leeway. Dude could be late 20s by the time he finishes getting all them degrees.
 
Yea she definitely could be the Queen of wakanda, it's just too bad, I think she's completely booked with Star Wars lol.

Did they confirm how much filming she would have to do. She wasnt in the original casting announcement with all those actors so I wonder if her and the GoT chick have that much. I guess they'd need training for the fight scenes.

Also don't think the BP Queen would need to be in the BP movie that much either.

If one project doesnt need her that much she could drop by. There was a rumor that Sam Jackson only filmed Avengers for a week.

T'Challa's a genius. I'm sure he can do an American accent to fit in or get an English one. No need make it so he grew up in America or anywhere else but Wakanda. Defeats the whole purpose of his story.

Makes it worse yall naming all these 40 and 50 yr old dudes to play somebody coming back to their homeland :lol:

It's not even about avoiding accents

I'd just rather avoid hiring an actor who can't properly execute an African accent

When someone can't execute an accent right, it just takes away from the movie, because it gets distractingly obvious. I don't want to watch someone faking an African accent and be thinking the whole damn movie, 'Man, he still sounds Amercian' lol

Now you can go the whole 'he's a genius so he can talk in any language perfectly without an accent' route.. but why go there? I think that would be extremely distracting for the casual viewer without giving him some kind of background (growing up in America/England/whatever)

Half the dudes yall name got African names :lol: or already played prominent Africans in film. Whoever gets the job has to put in the work to at least be believable and if that guy can't but is still good enough to do the role they'll just have him say at some point I'll talk to these other peons in an American accent. Hell as far as I'm concerned, there shouldn't even be an accent when he's in Wakanda. They should just make up a language and have them talk in Wakanadan while in Wakanda.

This aint like ScarJo unable to do BW's Russian accent or doing her average one.
 
I'm not going to pretend I'm familiar with all the names being thrown around (at least not without pictures) but the ones I do recognize seem to be too old or I just don't see as Black Panther.

If they can get someone who can do a convincing accent, then great. My post doesn't apply then. If they get someone who can't, then I say give him a background, if everyone around him is talking in an accent. I would think it'd just throw people off if he's the only one speaking English with an American accent.

But I do like the idea of Wakanda being so modern that there are no accents when English is spoken in Wakanda. If they go that route, that'd be pretty cool.

No lie, I'd be ridiculously happy to see her in a Marvel movie in any capacity. I think she's supposed to be heavily involved in Star Wars, though.
