The poster is OK. I hope that's not an omen for the movie. Capt America and Iron Man are so huge in comparison to everyone else.

Except for the Hulk, dude is impossible to look tiny.

What I liked about the Avengers is that everyone (except maybe Hawkeye) felt important. I hope the sequel doesn't lose sight of that.

It's fun watching some of yall squirm and be upset with this stuff. Especially as more and more rumors come in about this. Sony really trying to rebound off their failures. I already liked the idea of Sony of being the first to do a villain centric flick, and then when they announced they'd basically be first to do the first solo female flick. I just never had faith they'd execute it well enough but now they got Feige's guidance so I'm a bit more hopeful. If they get the first person of color in the biggest hero's role they'd have a lot going for them.

I don't think Peter in a mentor role to Miles or anybody else makes sense story wise. Like sure it could work but why add and split focus like that? I don't think you'd be doubling up if you put two of them in the same Spidey solo or made two different solo flicks. It sounds good but I don't see it working movie wise for several more reasons. I mean what you gonna do if the mentor wants to get paid more? I feel something like that doesn't necessarily please all fans but divide them more unless you make the perfect Spidey movie where he has a partner/sidekick and that's not what Spidey is, he doesn't really work in that format. Save that **** for Batman (and even they have ditched that recently)

I also see no point in making Peter any other race in the movie when you clearly have other options. Sure this might be the best compromise but you might as well ditch him altogether if you can if you're going in that direction. I wouldn't mind it as much and would find it funny if it goes down like this. Could just give us Miles and if you want elements from Peter's world straight up take that **** cuz you already own it. Be bold with it.

W/e SONY decides to do they need to be firm in their decisions from here on out. No more waffling and pussyfooting about. Another reboot 5 years from now will end everybody's support for them imo.

that would go over terribly

Bring back Tobey as Peter and have him mentor Miles?
Never gonna happen
they said the same thing about Spidey in the MCU
I think Spidey in the MCU and Sony bringing back Tobey as Peter in a mentor role is way different and more specific of a reach.
That scene should remain with black panther. Then the scene will maintain its gravitas because a world leader will unmask himself to the rest of the world for the first time.
This is actually a better idea for the movies.

I don't even care if Sony chooses to move away from Peter at this point. Maybe a change in their formula would be a good thing. They've pretty much failed with spidey up until this point. This is from someone that doesn't think there will be a better Peter story told on-screen than there was in Spiderman 2... And that was back in 04.

Is he only shown in this manner because they want him to be a surprise to a lot of people or because he is so unmarketable?

Definitely a surprise, he is a fan favorite and they probably want to keep him in the dark or someone to look forward to. The only clear pics we've seen of him were from unofficial photos that has leaked. We haven't seen him in trailers or in movement yet.

Yes.

Both.

Then again before a certain point the majority of Avengers weren't that marketable. I think they can do something with a sentient robot/synth-zoid protecting humanity (hell that's the premise of thousands of anime and manga).

Whedon already confirmed that Hawkeye, BW and Hulk all have big parts to play. You dont need to worry

Might be news or non-news, take it with a grain of salt.

Recently Donald Glover revealed in an interview that he was done campaigning for the role of Spider-Man. But now in an interview for the Lazarus Effect Glover would not confirm or deny discussions for the role. "I can't say I'm the next Spider-Man," he said. But when asked if he wasn't the next Spider-Man, he responded. "I can't say that either. I mean, it's not out yet."

Germany still has something against America, eh

It would upset me a little bit if they introduce Miles before Peter in the MCU

Good to see they finally did the right thing and put cap in front
This.

The official German Marvel Facebook page has this poster

Looks better to me :pimp:

Also if you look towards the bottom of the poster, both Falcon and Agent Carter will appear in this movie. So cool. Don't think that was confirmed prior? :nerd: Forgot the name of the guy who plays Winter Soldier so not sure if his name is up there too.

Funny, I literally just read this before reentering this thread:

Yahoo! News recently spoke with Donald Glover about the Spider-Man shake-up. A fan campaign to get Glover behind the webbed mask a few years ago sparked the creation of Miles Morales in the comics, and Glover's still many fans' ideal Spider-choice.

"Of course, I would only be honored to play Spider-Man," said Glover. "It's Spider-Man! I just want Spider-Man to be good. I always look at everything I do -- not to say I'm doing it -- but I want everything to be as interesting as possible. I want Spider-Man to be dope because I love Spider-Man... I'm leaving [campaigning] to [the fans]. I feel like campaigning is part of life, but for me? I've got a lot of stuff I'm excited about. So dropping it all -- of course, it'd be an honor. Whether it comes to me or not, I'm being very Taoist about it."
Oh snap, Peter Parker is about to be a black Taoist!

Seriously though, ever since the early campaigning for him I never thought Glover was the best choice for a black Spidey. I feel that'll probably be another obstacle going forward with these studios looking for poc for big/leading roles in these type of movies. I can't name a whole lot of young on the rise black actors. It'll get bleaker when you're looking for options to cast a Hispanic or an Asian, English speaking most likely, male or female in these high profile roles.

I think Altwell was confirmed because she was reportedly shooting a scene for the film a few months back. Mackie/Falcon was up in the air.

Supposedly their parts are going to be...

in a dream sequence or nightmare

just one of those rumors of course
