WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

Adam Warlock cant be Quill's dad since he isnt from an ancient race.

I tried to theorize that it was someone with radioactive/ microwave energy but didnt make sense.

Then...
Came up with The Collector.

He is an Elder.
Angelic - White hair and white "wings" on outfit
Only collects personal things at the time of owner's death.
Yondu had to deliver Quill bc TC couldnt leave.
  -Protecting Adam Warlock maybe?
Has Cosmo the dog from Earth, so he does know/ possibly been to Earth.
Is kind of a "jack.." or atleast dresses like one.
Has a slave named Carina, in the comics it is a daughter. Of course they cant have all that so instead Gunn gave him a son.

The problem is motive of course.. why would he lay out mama Quill?
And dont know how sentimental or invested the story could be with it being TC

...only time will tell.

In the Comics Magus does comes AFTER the original Infinity Gauntlet. His origin is tied to that event.

However, Marvel might be misleading everyone by calling this Infinity War, when it should be called Infinity Gauntlet.

After that you get magus and after him someone else.

It will depend on what Marvel chooses to do with Adam Warlock.

I think you (and others) are simply too tied up to the books, they aren't going to follow the books and honestly outside of comic book fans, not many are going to know who Magus is, hell many did not know who Thanos was after he cameo'd in A1.

So it doesn't really matter if it's called Infinity War, Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity Whatever, etc... no one is going to be mislead or confused.

Magus is an alt future evil version of Adam. IIRC the soul gem caused Adam to have that Jean Grey/Dark Phoenix dynamic going on where they share a body. They could skip Adam entirely and got straight to Magus. I dont have a problem with it. Just kinda surprised.

Yeah, they could easily introduce Magus first and hold off revealing his origin until they're ready to introduce Adam Warlock

Adam shows up in GoTG 2

Magus could be a separate character from Warlock or could be created at The Beehive at the same time as Warlock.

He's peter quill dad then?

I would hope not...

But me and a friend of mine were talking the other day and he thinks that marvel is gonna pull a Star Wars-esque parody for the finale of Infinity wars pt1 and 2 and make thanos star lords father on some Vader type ish. At first I was  cause I was like that's hillarious but nah....

Then I really thought about it...and my heart sank  ....marvel please don't be this stupid, please...
I've been thinking this same thing  either Thanos or Eros

Really hope not tho

Must be stressful being movie star

What about Passengers that comes out next year? I believe he is filming Magnificent 7 right now too.

Marvel knows what urban legend meant to the hood

Is that batman pic legit though???

Wow, Jim Starlin must be thanking the **** out of Marvel right now. The royalties will be lovely.

I know they'll streamline the hell out of it but that they're even tackling a character so complicated and convoluted as Adam Warlock's evil side Magus says how much they've gone in to planning this out. If you tell me Warlock's good side is showing up as well then I won't believe it. Don't think Marvel would adapt that crap story.

Just magus. Not Adam Warlock?
They'll probably change a lot but it started off as if the Magus showed up Adam Warlock was gone until they got separate bodies unless they go with the OG evil Magus from the future where it's revealed Magus = Warlock. So if in the movie Magus is the villain then we'd have to assume Warlock already lost that battle or it's Magus from the future.

come on now
The balls on Marvel if they'd pull that

Especially with the tag on it; No Powers. No Parents. No Problem

As hilarious as it would be I don't think it's worth the lawsuit.

Posted in the Antman thread but this one gets more traffic so... first reactions via twitter, what I am getting from it s the movie is mediocre but the mid/end credit scenes sounds like a must see.

It takes ANT-MAN a moment to get cranked up, but once it does, it’s sensational. My favorite third-act of any Marvel movie.

Germain Lussier @GermainLussier
Two Ant-Man credits scenes, each better than the last.

Germain Lussier @GermainLussier
Ant-Man is more methodical than most Marvel movies but it’s hilarious & a totally great ride. So many fun MCU links too. Another winner.

Jack Giroux @JackGi
Ant-Man isn't just great entertainment, it's also a great movie. Marvel's most human film to date. Fantastic.

Jack Giroux @JackGi
Ant-Man ties into the MCU without using any tangents. Almost all buildup, but that's a part of the fun with heist films. Great script.

Mike Sampson @mjsamps
Sadly ‘Ant-Man’ falls flat in almost every way. Doesn’t seem like it’s sure of what it wants to be. Not so much bad as it is blah.

ANT-MAN is good. Not a disaster like some expected but also not a homerun. Has a *must see* after the end credits scene.

gregoryellwood @HitFixGregory
Ant Man is great. Way better than Age of Ultron. @edgarwright deserves co-director credit. Feels like his movie.

Courtney Howard @Lulamaybelle
#AntMan: Mostly boring with lots of exposition, daddy issues and a splash of wit. Oh! And Paul Rudd's abs. #FemaleGaze

John Boone [emoji]10004[/emoji]@jtyboone
Guys, don't worry. #AntMan is good. Like, goooooood. Also, it's the weirdest Marvel movie yet. Weirder than "Guardians of the Galaxy" even.

Kyle Buchanan [emoji]10004[/emoji]@kylebuchanan
Recent Marvel credit scenes have been kind of minor, but ANT-MAN has two (mid-credits and at the very end) that, unlike its hero, are huge.
