WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

So why did fans want spiderman in Avengers films? Why was he immediately included in the civil war film? Why did his last minute inclusion in Marvel's phase 3 films placed ahead of other heavily anticipated films and caused film dates to be pushed back?

...has nothing to do with his popularity mind you

People wanted BP and CM in Avengers. I guess BP and CM are now Marvel's flagship characters

Rocket Raccoon stand alone would do better than any film Fox has made. Guardians are most popular than X-Men and F4 combined too

these are facts if we're talking strictly film wise.

What are you basing this popularity on? Did Rocket Raccoon have an immensely popular kids television series? Or a film franchise since 2000? Or critically acclaimed comics that's launched careers of many artist and writers?
by public reaction  If we're talking Strictly films (which is explicitly stated in the last post) and how the character has been depicted in the films he's up there with anyone Fox has ever had in their movies and the Guardians trump all their film portrayals of the X-Men and F4 too

X-Men films have been around since 00 but you can't honestly say any one of them were as big culturally as GOTG was. And you bringing up that "immensely" popular cartoon that ended about 18 years ago or that Silver Surfer cartoon that lasted 12 episodes? Neither one in relevant

Gambit is probably the 2nd most popular X-Men amongst casuals but if you approached them and said "Would you rather see a Gambit solo film or Rocket Racoon film" i think the results would end up being a lot closer than you'd like to think. It's not an indictment of the characters or the work of the artist and writers who've contributed to comics, it's solely a statement about the way Fox has handled the characters.

I honestly don't understand the Miles Morales hype? I was never a fan of ultimate spiderman comics but what Bendis did with the whole new mantle spiderman was corny
this is something we agree on..

I've been hearing a lot of people say Spider-Man films are never going to be good as long as they have a white guy in the costume and it should be Miles.. I usually ask them what Miles story they'd like to see adapted and they draw a complete blank  if the answer is just to adapt Peter's stories for Miles than that really isn't changing anything and doing both characters a disservice

Honestly think it's just become a cool thing to say for casuals. No shots at anyone in this thread, this is IRL stuff

(I kind of think that the Lord & Miller thing will involve Miles Morales though)

spidey has been done wrong these last couple of years.

The other Marvel movies were just better. Put Spidey in one of these Marvel films of his own and that film will flourish.

Yes it was.

Ultimate Spider-Man as a whole was solid, literally the best thing to come out of the Ultimate Universe, but that has zero to do with Miles Morales. Peter Parker and his storylines held that property afloat when others continually tanked and received ridicule. Numerous people hated it when he died, and the chance to see a non-white Spider-Man was the only thing that softened the blow, and within the comics the entire universe mourned his death. Miles Morales is really just ok at best. Seeing him as Spider-Man just comes with some novelty at him not being Peter Parker. He's nothing amazing.

lol if you haven't seen howard the duck until now, you won't like it. Its the usual weird 80's movie but with a duck as the main star.

I'm pretty sure just like Black Panther, Inhuman characters and Captain Marvel will all show up in Marvel movies before their actual title movies.

Dr. Strange and Ant-Man will probably be the last heroes they debut that hasn't already shown up in a previous movie or tv series.
thought feige specifically said he wanted to introduce CM in her solo film. Wasn't that the reason they scrapped the idea of her showing up with Cap & the new avengers team at the end?
I never came across that but if he did say that then I'll be wrong about CM but I really can't see some Inhumans who will be in the movie not show up in movies beforehand.

It'll be interesting if Feige said and sticks to it when IW comes out.
Don't nobody want 60 year old RDJ trying to negotiate for a Doom quest film. Let's finish out this phase 3 and 2020 we have the MCU with the the real mutants not some wack terrigen mist meta humans or talking raccoon and his team that no body would care about if Silver Surfer and Galactus were available to marvel....
They'll just change who Tony Stark is like they changed who plays Rhodey.

You don't need to reboot to recast. You got some weird rigid thinking.
mcu thrivin without fox  it should only pull through if JL turns out to be amazing

I don't follow.
He means Marvels should only collab with FOX if the JL movie does monster #s and is actually some competition to the MCU.

Does it really matter if you understand or not?

I mean blotters doesn't like Peter, you don't like Miles.

If you already don't like the character stop wasting your time arguing with ppl that do especially when you just don't get it.

Enough ppl like Miles to have him be one of the few (possibly only) surviving Ultimate characters post-Secret Wars in the comics. That should be enough for you - even if you don't understand - to figure out Miles has a huge enough fanbase to have his space to be Spider-Man in the comics of the New Marvel Universe.
Howard The Duck needs to get re-made or atleast a sequel. Movie was :pimp:

Really? That came out in the 80's, right?

I'll check it out.
I don't think I've ever seen the Howard the Duck movie in it's entirety b

I wouldn't know if it's horrible or underrated. Only thing I know is that it's rep is pretty bad.

So much of that Howard the Duck countdown was cringeworthy

I hope little kids didn't find that movie after seeing the Gotg after credits
