WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

The forecasts for it are gonna be tempered down in comparison to other Marvel properties. I see Ant man making around 400m worldwide which would be a new benchmark for a non sequel/ensemble Marvel movie. Maybe even 500 if it has good word of mouth.

That 400 number, that's excluding the US, right? Cuz that's super low lol

I mean, I do have the feeling that it might not perform as well as its mcu counterparts, but I thought that meant a 600 ish total

Yea that's including domestic numbers

, I'm expecting no more than 200m domestically. It's pretty low cause I'm not that sure that it's gonna command the attention/hype that most of the other Marvel movies has. 600m ww could be doable if it's a hit overseas but I don't see it having the legs that GOTG had last year.

don't feel like it's going to hit over 200 domestically either.

But a 400 total is pretty bad. That's flop status for Marvel.

That would be their highest grossing non sequel/ensemble flick so not all bad but in comparison to their recent Avengers related flicks, yea it's a little low. It doesn't really have that Avengers connection going for it and it hasn't been advertised another follow up unlike their other movies so it probably won't perform like those imo.

Of course it could still surprise me and everyone since the marvel brand is going strong right now but I doubt it tbh.

Still not expecting much from Ant-Man. If I were to rank the movie based on the little I know it would be in the bottom 5 Marvel flicks

I saw Avengers2 last night.

Great film. I do feel like it was rushed a bit. More info about Ultron upgrading himself and Thors "vision" in that pool wouldve been nice.
I thoroughly enjoyed Vision on the big screen. So hyped and it was cool seeing him coming out of the cradle, talking to Thor and growing a cape simultaneously.

Im ok with Banner and Romanovs romance but Vision and Scarlett Witch ? No, dont do it.

Im looking forward to more Vision in Cap3

Also, Tony Starks was wrong about Aaron Rogers. Not everything special about Rogers was in a bottle. A big part of what makes Rogers special is his heart. Lets not forget the scientist who made the super soldier serum saw Rogers, his demeanor and character and chose him to use the serum.
So in essence, Rogers heart is what makes him super. The serum just gives him the muscle to back it up.

Ant Man is getting $500 mill easily. That's not even a question. And that's not a flop. It's ridiculous to expect every movie to do huge numbers.

Also, I just read that Matthew McConaughey is rumored for Norman Osborn. It's wierd thinking about it, but dude looks the parts.

Also not sure if mentioned yet but in the new GQ, Pratt said he's signed on for another 3 or 5 Marvel films.

If 5, I wonder what it could be other then 2 more GOTG films and the 2 IW films.

Don't know about easily but their should be a good possibility of that. I just don't see it raking in that much domestically to get it to the phase 2 average of around 700m. Agreed though that expecting every movie to make crazy bank is unrealistic but Marvel's got the midas touch right now.

If true, hopefully Norman doesn't become GG until a later movie. I don't need to see GG again so soon

I feel like Kraven would be a great choice for the first Spidey film after CW. Spidey becomes famous worldwide after the events of CW and Kraven comes to NYC to hunt him down

With no hype, TIH made $300 million. With how cbm's are now, and the fans that these movies got, I'd say $500 million is easily obtainable.

There's like no hype behind AM either right now .

I guess they could always pick up the marketing during the next few weeks before it opens but I don't really see there being enough interest for a big opening.

You're right though that cmbs make much more money now so it can definitely make a few hundred mil with just the Marvel name alone but I think it'll be the lowest grossing one since phase 1.
