Speaking to TheWrap about a possible return to Marvel for a "female-driven" film, Whedon said, "Yeah, of course. Although I tend more towards the Jessica Jones-ey kind of stories than the delightful Supergirl stories that my daughter wants."

Not much is known about Whedon's next movie, except that he's currently writing the film, and it follows "...a girl who goes through some unbelievable sh-t."

Marvel comics definitely needed its version of a Batwoman/Batgirl cuz there aint many street level female heroes that are popular enough to helm their own franchise that I feel would fit his style.

Sure he could do a Black Widow movie but he'd have to tone down the humor to a Russo bros. level.

Maybe he could rehash Buffy mix it with a bit of Cena inspiration to do an Elsa Bloodstone movie.

Fans would go crazy about a Khamala Khan film, but that's delving into the Supergirl territory. Doubt She Hulk would work either. A lot of the other females that come to mind are X-Men and none would really count as street level. Songbird might be able to pull it off

And in all honesty Marvel needs to milk this Spider deal for all its worth and throw one of the Spider-Women into the mix.

I thought of Spider-Woman (even Mockingbird but she ain't making it out of tv) and while the deal for Spidey is going well I was trying to stick to something MCU owned to avoid any possible problems. Plus I'm not sure if they'd be ready to jump back in to a spider themed hero or not.

If it goes down it'd be great for Whedon to work with. Plenty of street level stories and enemies, could also delve in to the supernatural she's dealt with and at any time he could pivot in to her origin bringing in HYDRA, SHIELD, and the spy ****.
