WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

THE worst thing you can do with a character is make them a mother ******* teenager. Look at how horrible xmen played out, asm 1-2. Cmon man
Eh, this is false on several levels, specifically for Spider-Man. Not only did Spidey start as a teenager and remain that way for years that's where he found his success. Nobody is making Spidey a teenager in this sense. Now I can understand ppl being tired of teenage Spidey based off of what was done in ASM but being a teenager isn't the problem. Marvel got it right where the main focus to be avoided is the extra drama in his regular life and romance in his regular life which also bogged down the last Spidey trilogy where everybody was college age.

Not sure exactly what you mean with the X-Men though. All of them were adults or at least the important ones and it still wasn't good enough. The 1st class stuff wasn't really teenagers either but young adults. What Fox did overall is just bad. Had nothing to do with being teenagers.

Overall with Hollywood, the main reason the whole teenager take is so old is cuz they choose to keep repeating the same type of characters and situations.

Just how much of Peter Parker's normal life do people really care about anyway.

We get huge doses of that in ASM.

TF? That's part of what makes him so great.

I agree, but I also remember that ASM received huge criticism for integrating Peter's personal life so much into the movie. Judging by a lot of comments, not just on this board, but outside of it, it seemed that more people wanted more of a superhero flick and really didn't care much about Peter's personal life at all.

Arguments are being made right now for making Peter young to capture his personal problems as a youth and him juggling that with his superhero stuff, but just how much do people really care - based on the criticism of ASM?

Peter didn't even get with a girl until he went to college so we probably wouldn't even have to deal with all the romance early on. His personal life involves more than romance, which is what I believe was the problem for ASM2. It only focused on Gwen. We have yet to see any development of his school life outside of Flash. It'll be nice to see Liz at least pop up, seeing as how she was the first chick he liked. Raimi or Webb hasn't handled Harry well at all imo. Harry, like flash, hated him at first and then they eventually became to be friends. Harry is a far more interesting character than how he's been portrayed. Aunt may can have a slightly bigger impact that she's had in the movies. So far she's only been the voice of reason in these films and she can be used a little better than that. JJJ can be used as an important character instead of being a complete goofball. And there are other things I'd like to see. These films have tried to balance his life as a hero and his normal life, and I don't think either has done well with that.

 The majority of everything you said was wrong.

There aint no I told you so for this. If anything this is going down exactly how I said it would go down IF it would go down at all.

FOH you were adamant that spiderman wouldn't becoming to the MCU. Now that these reports have confirmed that spiderman going the MCU is happening now you want to act like you were entertaining the possibility

Sorry bruh your revisionist history aint gonna fly. I was adamant about your bull **** being PURE bull **** and it was. You clearly confused about me saying one thing was unlikely and adamantly saying YOU were wrong about your ridiculously dumb theory.

Be sure to pm me and make a thread when there's a SONY e-mail leak about Marvel planning to hint towards a Spidey crossover with the MCU by releasing a Marvel comics anniversary poster with Spidey and other MCU characters  THEN you can tell me I told you so.

:x you're so slick it's ridiculous.

So I haven't been posting in this thread for the last 3 months that spiderman was coming to the MCU. You said it wouldn't happen because of all the legal proceedings that would have to take place and because Marvel had merchandising rights to spidey and that marvel was content with that, or you don't remember? The poster was a hint whether you want to believe it or not and 2 years from now when spiderman would have most likely appeared or made referenced to in an MCU film, we will all say that the poster is OBVIOUSLY an MCU poster

You disagreed with me and then restated what I said

1. Spiderman is the corporate mascot, there is no equivalent to him.

2. "i know nothing that goes on behind the scenes in the industry" exactly, you don't

the movie studio and the comic book editorial staff are not connected. Think of the comics as a r and d department. Microsoft/Apple has some insane stuff in it's r and d department, some stuff that could never be made due to legal/contract issues.

Sony is NEVER going to give, Spidey back, and Marvel has no reason to help a new competitor and so it isn't going to happen, unless Sony ges bankrupt or something.

I'm remembering this...

Funny...I remembered this >D

You're reaching... that's really all there is to it.

Most of us would love to see it happen, but let it go, man

I'm the real life Mr. Fantastic :nerd:

Yeah, basically but I'll ignore him with this crazy theory that doesn't have legs. Nothing is pointing to Spidey being in the MCU but this other stuff for some reason gives him hope.

But good info to know overall about how Marvel really wanted to get things right with the movie

ARE YOU READY TRUE BELIEVERS?

This is the best ongoing rivalry on NT :wow:l
Will it ever end?

. I don't even know if I should catch up with this thread in case it's just pages of more of the same arguments.

Lol ^ don't bother catching up

In other news, my sister said some blogger on YouTube said Captain Marvel's is going to be announced this week. Haven't seen anything else on the Internet supporting this though

You're forgetting what I specifically told you when you claimed the poster was a hint and the paragraphs of nonsense you added to try and support that dumb idea as opposed to what I've been saying about any crossover with MCU before you ever brought it up. It's a good thing the posts are all there for anybody to see.

So until then "Be sure to pm me and make a thread when there's a SONY e-mail leak about Marvel planning to hint towards a Spidey crossover with the MCU by releasing a Marvel comics anniversary poster with Spidey and other MCU characters laugh.gif THEN you can tell me I told you so."

I'll specifically stick to what I said there

You in denial. You were 100% wrong and 100% "bona-fide crazy"

So if you come with an I told you so I'll laugh and feel bad about your sanity.

You said the worst thing you can do is make a character a teenager. I disagree with that. I point out that the whole reason Spidey was a success was cuz he's the original teenage superhero. Nowhere in my post did I change my mind and agree that making the character a teenager is the worst thing you can do.

I then even point out that there really weren't any teenagers in any of the X-Men movies that helped or hurt the movies. They sucked for completely different reasons. You're only example of this being horrible is the ASM movies

It's being speculated that the twins were subjected to the Terrigen Mist and Strucker got a hold of them and are manipulating them with the Scepter.

Ga'head and let LK believe what he felt in his heart was facts. I think that was the main issue, you reaching off every little detail. "Bruh, Stan Lee took two dumps yesterday, i'm telling ya'll the man wouldn't take a second dump if he didn't have to digest all that Spiderman/MCU crossover information". Nothing was and still isn't concrete, you ain't had **** but faith, you can't use that as an I told you so.

@lamekilla may never recover....

Badass Digest have apparently reached out to their Marvel sources about the chances of Spider-Man appearing in Captain America: Civil War, and the answer they received might just disappoint you! As of right now, it's said that the "ship has sailed" and Peter Parker is not factored into the current iteration of this movie.

The site also reports that, "One of my sources reiterates that Winter Soldier will be central to the story, and that there have been hints planted through the Marvel movies as to how that works."

Bucky Da Gawd. He's my favorite Marvel movie character at the moment, along with Drax.

Problem solved, there's a version of Spiderman Sony doesn't have the right to, maybe he can replace Peter Parker in Civil War! @lamekilla will live!

LEAKED: Sony's Hilarious List Of Rejected Super Heroes For The Spider-Man Franchise

Spider-Ham a.k.a Peter Porker

Amazingly, this parody character had a 17-issue run of its comic book series. Spider-Ham was a pig version of Spider-Man who possessed the abilities of a spider. Marvel informed Sony in 2011 that the character had been frozen.

I want to see the Thunder Cockroach. If you can boost a racoon to stardom, I'm pretty sure a roach is doable.

I seriously remember the Hypno Hustler though.

I thought some of Stans ideas were bad, but some were downright insane when we no longer wrote them.
