Can someone aware me of why Black Bolt is a good character/why I'm supposed to give a **** about Inhumans?

Srs. I know nothing about Black Bolt besides he's in the illuminati. Never read an Inhumans comic in my life

Can't speak for the comics, but inhumans are important to the MCU because there are no mutants. I don't think the film is going to be canceled. Feige has wanted an Inhuman movie for the longest. I call BS on that.

BB is like super unique and obscure in Lee's and Kirby's intent (mostly Kirby's) so it's no surprise he isn't popular on a more mainstream level or has a lot of fans. He doesn't speak due to his immense power. Int he comics any communication has to be interpreted.

He's just a badass king that basically runs a society of super mutants (Lee's words I believe). Alien in culture. Does what he thinks is best for his ppl and usually has to deal with his insane brother sometimes plotting against him. Comics wise, not many have been able to grasp what makes the character cool on a consistent basis.

If the movie happens, the actor that plays him is gonna have to sell the character with a lot of gravitas and coolness. His presence has to be imposing regardless. He'd probably be more mysterious than Dr. Strange.

And yeah, Medusa would come off more as the star or lead in any Inhumans movie focused on the royal family.

And Master Zik Marvel has female heroes in their line up. That's not to say they can't add Danvers but I don't care for her back story being a solo film. Especially as detailed with it being, can marvel afford to tell the Kree backstory as well? Or are they gonna cut corners and give us Captain Marvel just to say "hey we have a main female lead superhero with crap backstory...but we have one!" Eh, we'll see. I'm only suggesting this because it's been announced that they haven't even begun a script

...and what did Guardians really do to warrant a sequel? Since Gunn is Anti-Nova is he gonna take more stupid liberties with this film than before? Yawn, let Marvel ride the Chris Pratt wave I guess

There's a rumor online today that Kevin Feige has pulled the plug on the "Inhumans" film specifically because he doesn't want to have the TV side of things defining the rules and playing with the ideas for the next few years. I'll state simply that the rumor is not true. I went directly to an unimpeachable source, who told me that the film division is still planning to make the film, and there are certain elements of the "Inhumans" universe that have been declared off-limits to the "SHIELD" people as a result.

The more I see past Feige comments brought up, especially those endorsing the Inhumans after he gained more independence from Perlmutter, the more I'm thinking this rumor is bull ****.

Feige is the one that has been hyped about Inhumans and selling them the same way he was hype for Dr. Strange with his whole now movies will be revealing different genres in the MCU.

The only way I can see Inhumans being scrapped or postponed is if he brokered a backroom deal with FOX studios to get back the X-Men or share them.

Marvel studios currently has no other female hero on deck that can get a solo movie in phase 3 other than Black Widow which they have heavily implied they won't be giving a movie.

I didn't say Marvel doesn't have female heroes. I didn't even imply that. Captain Marvel is the hero chosen to be the first female hero by Marvel studios. That matters. It doesn't matter if you don't like the character.

The entire Kree back story does not need to be told to include the Kree in to her movie.

It's like Marvel hasn't had a cinematic universe for the past 7 going on 8 years or something. You talking like all these movies go in an out of your head and you retain nothing. Has each Marvel movie copied the comics detail for detail? No. Why are you assuming that there is no other way to do a Cap Marvel movie then?

Just cuz you lack the imagination to think of a way it can be done doesn't mean it can't.

Also how far out do you think these scripts are made? The movie was 4 years away. You seriously think studios get finalized scripts and then keep them lying around for years until production starts? They got a lot of time.

It really seems the announcements of the phase 3 and phase 4 movies made ppl like you impatient.

Another thing I'm remembering about this alleged turf war with the tv side cuz it's still under Perlmutter's say so is that Feige was recently (a month ago I think) slurping the netflix shows. The ABC tv shows and netflix shows are all ran by Loeb and that's the tv division under Perlmutter. Feige seems to be loving what netflix is doing and while he hasn't shown the most love to AOS and the ABC stuff it makes no sense to cancel a movie that can be a franchise for decades to come over what's on tv.

If he really wanted he could probably tell AOS to drop all Inhuman plots from here on out.

The Kree backstory can be glossed over in 5 minutes. The same way we didnt need to see Bor's whole backstory in Thor 2. Her origin story is no better or worse than 95% of comic stories.

Its important that they have a female superhero that can lead her own film. There is just no two ways around this. Being that she is the complete opposite of the stereotype for the hot blond type is a great bonus.

Besides gross more than ASM 2 it set up the cosmic universe perfectly.
