The Oakland Athletics 2018 Offseason Season Thread | One and Done Again

It's definitely going into the rotation, I'm probably gonna wear it to the Coco Gnome game on Sunday

Wore mine tonight will probably wear my weeks tomorrow since we're talking about it and Reggie on Sunday. What time you headed out Sunday morning I'm thinking of leaving Benicia at 830-900

Also I may be looking to move tickets to a giants game possibly a couple others as well since I'll be in Florida fishing for the next month just depends what games the wife wants to go to without me

Late news, but worth discussing: the A's 10 year lease extension at the Coliseum has been postponed. Raiders proponents stepped forward to influence the vote delay and now it's really come down to the wire concerning who Oakland will choose to be loyal to.

As I've written before on this board, there is no hope for both teams to remain in Oakland as things stand. Lew Wolff's ownership group won't sell, Mark Davis won't sell, and neither side is happy to remain on the same plot of land with one another. City of Oakland needs to make a firm decision for one of them, or else they will lose both.

Mark Davis also wants the A's gone from the Coliseum site no later than 2015.

My gut feeling? Oakland chooses the Raiders over the A's. Again.

Not mad at those I always end up giving them to my nieces or nephews only have one that's untouchable it's from the sabercats arenabowl season I have a family friend on the staff that gave me a game ball and bobble head signed by the players in New Orleans for my birthday. I had never missed a game until they closed up shop for that year. Haven't been back since they started playing again

I may be crazy but I would deal Addison at the right price. Coming into this year, there is no way I would have said that but this team is so close. I don't know if I can stand staying pat and having another playoff failure. :frown: :smh:

You guys have a chance to have a very special season.  I know your team is one of if not the best team in baseball already, but I think Beane would be doing your team a huge disservice if he sat on his hands and didnt add any pieces (like he did last year).  I will never forget hearing him on 95.7 last year.  I have never heard that super arrogant side of him before and he essentially stated that you didnt need any help last year.  Hope he has learned from his mistake, for your guys' sake.

WoW.

A's and City of Oakland come to agreement on 10 year lease agreement on Coliseum. A's state desire to build on Coliseum site for new stadium.

I don't know, depends on what they would be asking for.

I wouldn't give up much but I think McCarthy could be had easily and Hill is having a down year and has like 3 years left on his deal (I think) so they could look to move him.

I would rather take on a bad contract over losing prospects.

I'd give up a low level prospect for McCarthy, I doubt the DBacks are looking for major league talent right now anyway. McCarthy is 1-10, but most of his peripherals are actually pretty good. Bring him to Oakland for the stretch run, he'll have a sub 3 ERA for the second half of the season

Lesson to take away from City of Oakland officials not voting on A's lease extension: don't trust them to get anything done. MLB nor the NFL have any reason to expect Oakland to put together a plan.
