The A's now have approximately $33 mil guaranteed off the books after this season. That's a great pot to start extending Gray/Donny/Moss/Norris etc.

I think it's a good trade and don't mind it at all... 4 reasons.

1. Ces was never going to stay and he was always going to be traded at some point. Which brings me to my second point.

2. He was traded right now instead of next year because say everyone gets hurt next year or they just pull a Rangers and blow the entire season. What is known, right now, is they are thee best team in baseball. And they Now have the very best rotation in baseball.

3. Gomes catching is better than Ces'... He wouldn't have to make some of those great throws if he would of just caught the ball.

4. This one doesn't matter on field but I wasn't the biggest Ces fan anyway. From the soul patch to constantly chasing pitches to only turning it on in prime time.

If Beane is going to retire... He deserves to do it this way. After everything the guy has done for the A's and having to deal with an owner like Wolff... He and the A's deserve a championship. He is all in. I love it.[/COLOR]
