NYC Unveils Plan To Lower All Speed Limits to 25 MPH

so my trash gets picked up after 3 weeks, but the recycling still hasn't been taken away. gonna be 4 weeks with that. between the snow and mounds of recycling from the past month, it looks like the dark ages out there. pathetic.

recycling? the chinese got you son :smokin

Cab drivers in NYC are :x . I've been hit like 5 times in the city, serious. Once on a sidewalk, and all the other times around Penn Station.

The last time was the worst, if I wasn't such in a rush to grab my train I would have took down dudes license plate number. I had the light to cross, dude on his phone not playing attention, hooks the corner with no regard and I didn't even have time to react. Dude got me so good I was up on his hood. Homeboy filpped me off and keep it pushin like I was holding him up. :smh:

5 times?

how have you not sued or called the police? :x

damn

First I gotta say that's 5 times over like 12 years.

One time I was walking to Penn from the Jitney and a cab drinker was swerving like he was Kyrie in the lane and hopped the curb a tagged me with the side of the car. Only pushed me forward a bit, he wasn't going very fast, he got out apologizing so I let it go.

Next couple time was hands on the hood type hits were dudes try to beat the light or antipated the light and got bumped but once again I just struggled it off like "These dudes are nuts"

Last time you're right, I should have taken down homeboys plate and sued. He got me good. I had bruising all down the side of my body and my wrist was messed up for weeks. A cop was right there. He tried to stop me, and I assume call ahead to stop the cab but I was adamant I need to make the train (was holiday season, trying to make it home to the fam and some yambs, if I missed it, might have been stuck in the city for a while). So he just said fine, I dunno if the cab driver ended p in trouble. But I hope he did.

De Blasio's SUV Caught Speeding Just Days After "Safe Streets" Speech

View media item 817852
New York mayor Bill de Blasio's two-car caravan was caught on camera speeding through stop signs on Thursday, just a few days after the mayor suggested lowering the speed limit as part of a new traffic safety initiative.

CBS's Marcia Kramer caught the mayor's SUV on camera speeding down city streets, failing to signal, blocking the box, and blowing through stop signs.

When Kramer asked de Blasio's camp for comment, he reportedly told her to contact the NYPD. According to the NYPD, which operates the mayor's caravan, officers "sometimes has to use special driving techniques for protective reasons."

On Tuesday, de Blasio gave a 62-point traffic speech where he announced a plan to lower New York City's speed limit from 30 to 25 and install more speed cameras through the city.

"We want the public to know that we are holding ourselves to this standard," de Blasio said during the speech.

why so mad doggie?

You got a speeding ticket?
You snowed in?
Your trash hasn't been picked up?

i don't see the big deal about not stopping at a stop sign if another car is not in the intersection...

To those who haven't had their trash picked up in weeks.... What part do you live? I'm in bk and it gets picked up regularly where I'm at

Queens. Near the mall. Absurd b. Trash came today but didn't take the recycling. Again. I don't get it. Today isn't even trash day for my block.

I'm in Crown Heights. My trash has been picked up, but you can go on a number of side streets and still see piles of trash. Even worse for parts of Manhattan which surprised the hell out of me. Seeing at least 30 bags of trash in front of one restaurant on 50th Street.

Oh

Oh yea ? I live in c heights too... Only parts of the city I've seen a lot of trash was in front of those huge apartment complexes. And those always have loads of trash, rain or shine.

Anyway. I'm a bus operator and i hate all of you too..

There i said it. Don't be coming up on my side trying to block me out when I'm trying to pull out. Y'all dont understand such a large vehicle having to constantly merge in and out of traffic. No one trying to let you in
You have hostile customers, a schedule to keep and a dispatcher down your back.

You come up on us and it's either we make you slow down or we jam the brakes and have everyone fall like bowling pins....

It's a reason we all do it.
