Bought it from a pretty reputable seller in the early 2000s so don't think so.

Although I've never seen this particular model either, I don't think it's fake because.....,
that color scheme & the tag seen on the first pic surely looks like the Limited Editions (that were released after Escape Series) from the late 80's - early 90's era.
But since I've never seen the site(s) that list most of those Escape/LE series from that era,
I assume it'd be really difficult to identify it tho.
BTW, it's also possible that someone in the Retro section might be able to help you out cos if those were Limited Edition from that era for sure, that means there were GR colorways available too.
