Do a google search on "Nike access code" and you will see this info on nike.com.
seems like this will be the future

Or if a bot can generate an access code. Then its back to square one.
the access code is long enough it would take forever for a bot to figure this out.. especially if they make numbers, symbols, and case sensitive and giving you a short window to checkout...

not if you limit to one person per account and your payment info/address have to match account.
There are easy way around that...

the only way to slow down bots is to make it as human as possible and that would be to require the person to complete the order over the phone with the access code/account info.. Its hard for a bot to pretend to be 10 different people at once.

But the reality is someone will figure out away to beat the system and the sad part is the kid who really wants the shoe to wear has no chance anymore and any change ndc makes it even harder for them

people are quick to dismiss the "access code" showing up on the powder 10s. often people cite the 2k14 lebrons and how this feature has been around.

sure. now lets expand that thought process a little bit further - if it has been around for a while then why test the feature? and why test it on a shoe that is about to release in less than 24 hours?

with nike selectively tweeting certain shoes via the web versus a social media engagement app and with what we saw today - id be more than inclined to hypothesize that Nike is up to something.

maybe something to deter bots?
maybe something to cherry pick buyers for future shoe releases?

we dont know.

but nothing will hold us back from speculating.

and its fun to see bot services try to calm their customers who are already on edge from this mornings drop.

Worst system I've ever seen. At least with bots, people that wanted releases could run the bot hustle. So now its totally random code giveaways? This will be the end of the game for me if so. Canadian with a US address. Wonder how often I get picked... Plus all the inactive emails that no one will check?

Total failure

I spoke to a Nike Rep earlier today, she insisted that this type of code system has nothing to do with future releases but only for specific events/releases, but then she asked me "did you see this on a message board or a tweet"  LOL obviously Nike trolls hard...

Hmm. Interesting way by Nike. We'll see how it goes when a pair I want drops on NDC. Hopefully it'll be a lot more easier. But knowing all the people out there who write code, probably won't. lol.
