I never knew that......

-us citizenship isn't required to be a US federal judge, however citizenship is required to serve on a jury.

- when getting a Kidney transplant, removing the original Kidneys is deemed too invasive so they stuff the extra Kidney in your lower stomach

-bb king could not play the guitar and sing at yhe same time

-Soaking potatoes in hydrogen peroxide will turn the hydrogen peroxide into clean drinkable water H2O

-if you take all the molecules in a teaspoon of water and lined them up end to end in a single file line, they would stretch a staggering ~30 billion miles.

For the liquid tungsten, I think solidify is a better word to use, not freeze

ARE YOU SAYING THAT YOU EAT YOUR OLD KIDNEYS??????

Usually, when people are eligible for a kidney transplant their kidneys have failed. But even "failed" kidneys often have some small capacity to filter the blood and create urine, even if it only amounts to peeing once every few weeks. For people who are sick enough to need a transplant, every bit if filtration counts - even if it's only 2-3% of the kidney's baseline. And since the kidney transplant itself only lasts so long...well, you keep whatever you can.

Having said that, removing the original kidneys definitely is a pretty invasive thing to do. You would need to do some damnimpressive dissection, since the kidneys aren't actually in the main compartment of the abdomen (the peritoneal cavity). And then, you'd be removing tissue from the aorta, which is kinda a big deal.

Bonus fact: for people who need multiple kidney transplants, they just keep adding them on over and over. There have been folks walking around with, like, seven kidneys in them.

Not sure how true this is

A blue lobster was caught off the coast of Maine over the weekend – a 1-in-2 million find.

Meghan LaPlante, 14, and her father Jay with the Miss Meghan Lobster Catch company  found the blue lobster in one of their traps Saturday.

People who study lobsters say its blue color is caused by a genetic defect.

That genetic defect has saved the crustacean’s life. Instead of being dropped into a pot of boiling water, the blue lobster – nicknamed “Skyler” – will live out its days at Maine’s State Aquarium.

a calico lobster was found as well

According to Ellen Goethel, a marine biologist and oceanarium director, the chance of finding a calico lobster is between 1 in 30 million and 1 in 50 million, according to some estimates.
