naw...i remember trying to convince my parents to get one when we returned from minnesota back in the day...that soft water felt so damn magical...and i'm pretty sure my apartment doesn't have one..i would be able to tell the difference...

Alls i know is that a hot shower is appreciated when you get home from jail. Knees and elbows might look like i was crawlin in baby powder but dammit it feels good

Alot of metropolitan areas dont use water softeners.
ALOT.
From what i understand its a buildup of minerals and things and sum areas dont have as much as others.
The water is naturally soft and theres really no need or the city filtration system takes care of wat little minerals there are.
Google it...there are people that dont know wat a water softener is.
Only reason i know is cuz i know cats in the country

I don't know about different waters. I just let it do what it do. I don't own my home, I rent. Maybe they handle it? And I don't OD on lotion, just hit the knees and elbows basically. Never noticed my skin being dry.

I live in LA our houses have water softeners. I just assumed that living in America most people had advanced water filtration systems. I was blown away at the idea that people didn't know what "hard" water was.

When I lived in Vermont, nearly every household and business used well water... Restaurant I worked at had to delime the dishwasher twice a week.. You'd get a big thicker layer of lime, sorta like compressed rock salt...
