Steve Stoute lists his Top 5 Influential Artists in Hip Hop

50 should stomp a hole in stout for trying to discredit the impact of Get Rich.

Jay isnt an elite rapper, y'all stop sipping the kool-aid. Who's the best Pac, Nas, or Big....

Even if you're not a fan of Jay how can you say he's not a elite rapper? Just say you don't like his music.

I used to be a huge Jay fan but his recent music doesn't cut it for me. Elite....so like a top 3 rapper? Because the 1 and 2 spots are universally known and I wouldn't put jay over Nas...or Em....or Wayne.....or Andre.........like in a lyrical battle pound for pound?? Lol nah

Straight sonning him. The one thing I like about 50 is he's always going to be 50, no matter what. Dude seems real as hell all the time. Always know what you're gonna get with him. His music has sucked for eons though.

That funeral joint Fif dropped was nice, boys too soft for a 50 album to do numbers IMO I'd check for a Fif album tho

.....and there's good reason for that champ.  We're talking about a documentary that helped moved the hip hop culture forward, helping it to progress.  Dudes walking around with face tatts looking like weirdos and an influx of "bloods" walking around on the streets is NOT and more importantly HAS NOT helped us move forward at all.  This is a documentary of importance, now's the time to leave the dumb **** behind.

steve is being interviewed b/c hes plugging his doc, but im respondin to the title of OP's thread which simply references hip-hops most influential figures.
whether or not the impact of said rapper is moving the culture forward or backward is a different discussion. influence is influence, be it positive or negative.

and to dude talkin about Wayne and dreads and bloods.

nah. maybe some little ***** out there did these things

to be like wayne, but you are definitely overstating his

influence in that area. middle school kids don't count bro

ok, soooooo we're talkin about the most INFLUENTIAL rappers/figures in hip-hop and youre really gonna say that middle schoolers and "lil n_s" dont count? word?

IMO, the middle schooler/"lil n_s" age bracket ranges from 11 to 22 (give or take a few years). I.E. THE MOST IMPRESSIONABLE PHASE OF PEOPLES LIVES.

twice over, wayne has sold a million records in the first week of his album releasin. no small feat. what age bracket do you think is purchasing the majority of those albums bruh? THEY are the ones that dictate whats hot in this industry, not us.

his influence is most certainly not exclusive to the youngins either. i've seen people in the 30+ range with face tatts/body murels n dreads. again, he didnt start these things but he damn sure had EVERYTHING to do with them becoming the norm.

and i havent even mentioned sippin syrup yet. thats has now become a mainstream drug of choice for up north states. we gonna act like that aint b/c of wayne too now right?:rolleyes

dont get me wrong, im def on the outside lookin in when it comes to wayne fanfare as im sure both of you are, but to discredit his influence is flat out hatin. dude is WITHOUT QUESTION one of the most impactful rappers in the game over the past 6-7 years no matter what the age group.

wayne himself speaks on his impact/influence in this vid from a while back:

dudes influence is evident @ this point, even if youre on the outside of it. keep it funky...

LOL.  If you don't know, just say you don't know champ.  It's quite evident you don't have a clue what your talking about.  If you don't know, ask a question.  No shame in that, but there is great shame in posting what your posting as "you embarrassing us"  Better yet let me just debunk your statement above in regards to "sippin syrup" with the link below.............
