Oh you can tell he's a writer? You must be a highly educated young man to be able to come to that conclusion. You might be I wouldn't know will never know and will never care. If I were to be so naive as to judge you based strictly on what you post here on NT it would be my opinion that you're a buffoon. I was able to make that conclusion because of your writing style...but maybe that went over your head :rolleyes

you sound angry...

what do you see as solutions for the faults in the judicial system?

**** the police.

I hate this system. These officers are TERRORISTS plain and simple.

"I don't answer to you" - YES YOU ******* DO PIG, YOU DAMN SURE ANSWER TO ME AND EVERY ******* TAX-PAYING CIVILIAN THAT PAYS YOUR GOD DAMNED SALARY.

"Stop recording" - YOU HAVE THE FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT TO RECORD POLICE OFFICERS PERFORMING THEIR "DUTIES" IN PUBLIC. THE GUY WHO WAS RECORDING WAS IN HIS RESIDENCE.

1. Officer DID NOT identify himself.

2. The officer DID NOT offer reason for arrest.

3. Officer DID NOT read him his rights.

You know what? I'm sick and ******* tired of hearing that it's only a few police officers that are like this. Bull, that's BULL. Alright? The rate at which this happens, and the fact that nearly everyone I know has had to deal with a power-tripping police officer, including myself (was unjustly assaulted by an NYPD detective) leads me to believe that the good cops that honor their badges are the OUTLIERS.

A majority of cops are complete and total PIGS.

lol @ youtube and WSHH vids showing how cops really are. I see cops on a regular basis, according to this thread I should be getting beat up 2 out of 3 encounters with the police.

funny, seems to be an overwhelming amount of evidence on youtube and other media outlets of cops going over the line.

open the local paper, same thing.

national news, same thing.

ask your friend's about their experiences, same thing.

hm, nah NT just blowing it out of proportion. chalk it up to #NTExtremes.

None of my friends have these experiences with cops, I don't know what kinda hoodlums you're hanging out with. I encounter cops on a daily basis, none of this sh happens to me ever. Like I said before I can post negative biased sh about just about any demographic from WSHH and youtube.

Biases WSHH vids=overwhelming evidence that cops are bad......yea ok buddy.

hoodlums? man, you're clearly a bigoted troll.

No system can be perfect but there are a whole lot of things that we could do to make our law enforcement community more humane, professional and community oriented.

- End the Drug War. Police are supposed to protect citizens from other citizens. the Drug War involves the police spying on, kidnapping and killing citizens, particularly poor citizens of color.

- End preferences for veterans. Veterans should get preferences in hiring for any other form of civil service aside from policing. The mindset that keeps a soldier alive in Iraq or Afghanistan is the mindset that causes them be needlessly aggressive in the course of police work.

- End preferences for criminal justice majors. Any other degree should get applicants more points, particularly social and behavioral sciences.

- The police academies should make education about the economic, social, political and cultural realities of the communities, which they will soon be policing, a major part of the curriculum.

- Demilitarize the dress, language and terminology of the police force. Stop with camouflage outfits, assault rifles, buzz cuts, combat boots and calling your fellow citizens "combatants."

- Deunionize the police force so they cannot lobby for more and harsher laws (the notion that the police are "just enforcing the laws" and don't make them is untrue and antiquated).

- Raise the base pay and eliminate any bonuses or other incentive programs that reward more arrests or higher clearance rates.

- Bring in civilian review boards.

The political feasibility of each item varies from slim to nonexistent but we all know that those proposals would drastically change the relationship between the police and the communities which they are supposed to serve and protect.

You don't have to be a hoodlum or even hang with them to get harrassed by the police @LIONBLOOD.. All you have to do is be in the right place at the wrong time.

fantastic post, agree with almost everything. Especially the war on drugs, the ending of preference for Vets and most importantly DEUNIONIZATION.

Disagree that criminal justice majors shouldn't get preference. We take a lot more ethics based classes than the average officer with no college background.

No, but someone has to provide a balance to this blatantly biased thread.

and you're doing a piss poor mockery of a job doing that.

red herrings, red herrings everywhere.

stick to the script son. countering multiple instances of cops not doing their job with instances of them doing their jobs doesn't help your argument.

whatever your argument is. all i see you doing is undermining a wealth of instances and evidence of police brutality and deviation from protocol.

The items that are taught in criminal justice are valuable and should be taught to every police officer as part of their training. I mentioned the item about college degrees because it would benefit the police force, especially police forces in large cities. if more officers knew the culture and language of the immigrant communities that they will likely encounter when they are doing police work, they could catch more criminals within those communities and build relationships with the law-abiding people in those communities.

The argument in this thread is the police are bad, I'm just providing a counterargument. Oh what you just expected everyone to cosign?

You're undermining a wealth of instances where police are doing good.  Like i said before every profession has its bad apples, the cops are no different but I'm not going to sit here and listen to biased opinions of the police.

the argument is that police misconduct, gross abuse of power, & outright brutality is on the rise. it's becoming an epidemic. we're saying that good cops are the outliers. I even said that in my initial post in this thread.

so really your argument doesn't apply when addressing my posts, goodbye.

I agree 100%. you sir should post more often, I value your insight.

And my argument is those cops are bad apples and most cops are not out there beating up innocent people.  My argument is DIRECTLY addressing your posts.

but I didn't say all cops are bad, I said that most cops are. so again, you are misrepresenting MY argument with your replies.

again, bye.

using wshh to prove how corrupt police are is like using wshh to prove how black people are all criminals...
