Police Brutality Discussion & Solutions...

Video shows principal holding a student’s head while he’s shocked with a stun gun, attorney says

An attorney for three students who were allegedly threatened and beaten at a Pittsburgh high school said recent surveillance video exposes an atmosphere where administrators and police are “assaulting children.”

Surveillance video released Tuesday showed Ahmad Williams, who is black, sitting in the school office when the school resource officer, identified as Churchill Police Officer Steve Shaulis, pointed a finger in the teen’s face.

The officer was seen walking into a hallway, where he appeared to continue speaking to the boy.

Hollis, the teen’s attorney, said the officer was “taunting” the teen, and that the teen responded.

The video showed the officer pull the boy by his collar and put him in a chokehold, forcing him down a hallway headed away from the camera. The officer then slammed him to the ground.

Another man, identified as Woodland Hills High School Principal Kevin Murray, quickly intervened — holding the teen’s head down as the resource officer appeared to use a taser on him.

And on top of that the families that just let these dudes continue breathing after they kill their children are cowards too.
Kills me when these ****ing, Bunny Ruckus mothers get on tv talking about "we forgive the officer" or something similar
Parents of Texas cop who killed unarmed black schoolboy say he is Iraq vet with PTSD and a 'family man' with two toddlers born 12 days apart to wife and girlfriend
• The ex-officer's mother, Linda Oliver, told DailyMail.com she doesn't believe her son would have harmed Edwards intentionally since he has two young children
 • Roy Oliver's ex-wife Amy Michelle gave birth to his daughter named Alexa on July 3, 2015 and his 'current girlfriend' gave birth to his son Tab 12 days later
 • His father, also named Roy Oliver, said his son suffered from PTSD after serving two tours of duty in Iraq under the Bush administration
 • He said his son would have flashbacks to his time in Iraq that could be triggered by 'loud bangs, fireworks or gunfire'

Not brutality related but this cop got busted playing with his firearm acting out "Training Day" with his partner

Also notice how more cops are overweight these days? At least the ones that I see. And these dudes are supposed to be able to run down suspects WHILE carrying their weapons and gear.

You wonder why their first reaction is to grab the gun. They are scared little boys who cant defend ****. I don't even understand how they are allowed to even get that overweight :smh:

There needs to be a fitness requirement in place with a job like this.

They should have mandatory fitness requirements for that reason, within reason of course. If the officers are too obese to catch up to suspects or overpower them, logic suggests they are more likely to use their firearm.

And not just in the application process. Should be required to maintain that same level of fitness and aptitude throughout their career

Only state police and federal agencies (FBI, DEA,ATF, etc..) keep up with these requirements. Local level agencies can't be picky.

Arresting deputy fired following former Hawks forward Mike Scott's racially 'concerning' drug case

Less than a week after a Georgia judge cleared Scott of felony drug charges — calling into question the Banks County Sheriff’s Office’s actions before, during and after the traffic stop two years ago — the department fired one of the arresting deputies, raising further questions about local policing tactics.

Scott was the passenger in a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by his brother Antonn on Interstate 85 through Banks County in July 2015, when the siblings were pulled after allegedly “failing to yield to officers” and charged with possession of more than an ounce of marijuana and 10.9 grams of MDMA, or “Molly.”

Some 22 months later, Banks County Superior Judge Currie Mingledorff II suppressed all evidence and dismissed the charges on Wednesday, citing insufficient reason for the traffic stop, improper search of the vehicle, no probable cause for an arrest and a failure to “enforce the law in a racially neutral manner,” per reports from The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In his eight-page ruling, Mingledorff gutted the sheriff office’s handling of the case, singling out Deputy Brent Register, a key witness, of providing “testimony that was in contradiction to admitted documentary evidence.” Mingledorff also found it “surprising and concerning” there was no video evidence provided of the stop “in an era in which police conduct is so carefully scrutinized.”

Ex-Cop Who Refused To Shoot Young Black Man Sues City Over His Firing

A former West Virginia police officer who witnessed the fatal police shooting of a young black man last year is now suing the city where he was employed, saying he was fired for not shooting the man himself.

Stephen Mader was fired from his job as a police officer in Weirton, West Virginia, on June 7, 2016 ― for unsuccessfully meeting the “probationary standards of an officer” and showing “apparent difficulties in critical incident reasoning,” according to a federal lawsuit the American Civil Liberties Union of West Virginia filed Wednesday on Mader’s behalf.

“When we brought his hands from behind his back, he had a silver pistol in his right hand,” Mader told HuffPost. “I drew my duty weapon and I’m telling him, ‘Put the gun down, put the gun down.’”

“Just shoot me,” Mader remembered Williams saying.

Mader said he concluded that Williams was attempting to commit suicide by cop. “I’m not gonna shoot you, brother,” the Afghanistan war veteran recalled saying. “Just put down the gun.”

“Nah man. Seriously ― just shoot me,” Williams repeated, according to Mader.

The two went back and forth, Mader said, with the officer trying to coax Williams into putting his gun down. Soon, they saw another cruiser driving up the street toward them.

That’s when Mader says Williams turned his attention toward the approaching officers, randomly waving the gun between Mader and the others.

“Within seconds, shots were fired and the last shot fatally wounded Mr. Williams to the head,” Mader said.

Williams’ own gun was found to be unloaded.

Officer Ryan Kuzma, who fatally shot Williams, was placed on administrative leave, along with Mader and another officer. Hancock County prosecutors investigated the shooting and later determined it was justified.

Failed critical incident reasoning??? WTF??? He was able to assess the man was attempting suicide by cop so that shows he was exceptional at critical incident reasoning.

Texas Police Officer Allegedly Punches A 14-Year-Old Girl In Graphic Video

The girl, whose name HuffPost is withholding because she is a minor, was attending a quinceanera on the night of May 20. During the party, two adult male attendees got into an altercation indoors with one accusing the other of becoming “inappropriate with the juveniles,” according to a preliminary police report provided by the San Antonio Police Department.

The facility where the celebration was being held then kicked the entire party out, House said. The police were called, as the fighting continued outside. The girl, who had not been involved in the initial altercation, was arrested and charged with assaulting a public servant.

What happened between the girl and the officer she is accused of assaulting is unclear. But House said witnesses are claiming that the girl did not hit the officer.

The San Antonio Police Department rarely uses force, according to a San Antonio Express-News analysis of police data. Yet its officers are up to 78 percent more likely to forcibly subdue black and Latinx people than white people.

House also said that the girl did not receive medical attention on the scene. She did see a doctor at the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center, but the lawyer said she was not given an ice pack when she requested one.

The girl was held at the juvenile detention center from the time of her arrest on Saturday night until Monday afternoon. House said she expects the charges will also be dropped since the prosecutor agreed that the girl should be released from holding.

While the video shows only the alleged assault on the girl, House said the girl’s mother was choked by one of the officers as well. The mother was not arrested or charged with any wrongdoing.

Police Chief William McManus issued a statement on Monday night: “Per SAPD policy, the events leading up to the arrest of the juvenile for assaulting a public official is being investigated to ensure compliance with Department policies.”

None of the other officers intervened on behalf of the mother or the child, according to House.

The accused officer “lacked the temperament and the restraint when it came to dealing with this child to the point where he became an aggressor,” House said. “When we talk about use of force, the force has to be proportional. … That force does not seem that it would be proportional ― even if the child did hit him.”

“Because she is a 14-year-old minor, she needs to be treated as a 14-year-old minor ― not as an adult,” the lawyer added.

House threatened to file a civil rights action in federal court if the department provides a “lame duck response” to the officer’s alleged misconduct.

“There was nothing that merited that use of force,” said House. “There’s really no excuse.”

Still can't fathom how "trained" officers need to punch children. They really need to make these police officers training public so we can squash this assumption that their training allows them to skip all the steps we see in movies that show us all those holds and maneuvers that cops are "supposed" to know

We are at a point now where black parents should not be letting our kids out in these streets unsupervised where cops are beating, pointing guns at, and killing black teens and pre-teens. But ratchet mom's gonna ratchet. Times I visit my parents during the summer and, these ratchet moms would let their kids out at the crack of dawn to roam the streets until dark, with no supervision whatsover. Be all over the hood. This isn't the 80s/90s anymore.

It's literally never been safe for us in regards to police brutality
