Hello NIkeTalk,

I have a pair of DS Columbia 11s from 1996 that I got over the summer, and I feel that they have yellowed (actually they are getting a greenish tint) since I got them. They are insanely icey and have never been dyed/seaglowed, and I really want to keep them in that condition. What is the best way to store them to prevent more yellowing?

Thanks!

There's really not much that can be done.  Clear soles are going to yellow over time.  I never wore and rarely even took my OG black/infrared and Carmine 6's out of the box and they still yellowed.  Of course, they are 23 years old at this point, but I have pics of them that I took around 2003 and the soles are really yellow.

What I did do that seemed to potentially slow down the yellowing a bit, was I kept them out of the light as much as possible.  I kept them in a dark closet and, in the last few years, have kept them inside a black garbage bag and put them inside another box.  As I said, I also take them out as little as possible.  Sounds crazy, but here is a pick to show you the shape they were in in 2003.  Carmines were/still are DS and black/infrareds were worn twice.

(PS: 23collector was my ID way back on Soleredemption.com and still is on UTA)
