President Obama's My Brother's My Keeper Initiative - Page 2

I thought it was unconstitutional to have programs laws or whatever that discriminate against people? I get that it's a good idea, it's actually a great idea. I feel like having positive role models looking over youth lacking father figures in their life keeping them on the right track will actually make a big difference. The youth is the future and a lot of kids start following the wrong paths way to early. But here's my thing. White kids without fathers should be eligible too. You can't just have a program that is only for a certain race/races. No matter how you all might feel about it- a lot of people are going to say it's discriminating against white people

I'm not sure if you read the update I posted but now everyone will benefit from the program besides black and hispanic boys (which it was aimed to help in the first place).

Now, what do you think?

But you said it was bad because it was discriminating against white people. Pretty much now it discriminating against black and hispanic people. Do you understand what I'm saying now.

Not really, I have an open mind though, enlighten me , how is it discriminating against blacks and hispanics now? I feel like it shouldn't have anything to do with race, gender, or sexuality (like that earlier article brought up) it should have to do with young people who lack positive role models

Its not explicitly discriminating against blacks but per the new rule, many black organizations wont be eligible because they do not occupy 45 states

Not really, I have an open mind though, enlighten me , how is it discriminating against excluding blacks and hispanics now? I feel like it shouldn't have anything to do with race, gender, or sexuality (like that earlier article brought up) it should have to do with young people who lack positive role models

The 45 state rule requirement would mean that small community based organizations would be out of the running for funding.

I would prefer ending the War on Drugs, so the this system can stop sending a lot of fathers to prison so they can raise their own kids.
