That three run shot should be assisted by Daniel Murphy. That single that he let go by him was an inning ending double play he should have been playing back as Ryan Howard isn't out running anyone. Its like someone has to constantly ask him is he aware of what's currently going on because when he messes up, he messes up.

what's the clause?  he's worth 20M/yr.  he will get higher offers from other teams though.  if wilpons were smart, they would pay him, but u know how that goes.
 
they have 5 days after the world series to re-sign him. if he doesn't sign within that period he goes to free agency and the mets can't sign him till may.

Last night, some of Phillies players were still heated about this bat flip.

In a video of the scrum, Bowa apparently says, “hey you Murphy, that bulls--- flipping the bat, you’re gonna get hit, too. You. F--- you. F--- you.”

I'd be shocked if Murphy and Cespedes are still Met next year.

If only Cespedes stop struggling against lefty pitchers, he'd a completely deadly hitter.

Murphy looked at him like what the hell :lol: if we had a DH i'd be fine with keeping Murph, but he isn't really worth it. poor fielding utility guy without an elite bat. feel like we can moneyball that rather than tie up 10 million a year.
 
Murph could probably get 9M per from a team, and he is a very good hitter to pass up, but Flores is more than likely better suited at 2nd and they would probably have to platoon at SS.

But who knows, it can all depend on what happens with David too, and if he is even able to play or not on a consistent basis again.

The #Mets just tied their franchise record for 40 home runs in a month. Did it once before in June 2006. Still five games to go in August.
