If Montero does miss time, the next time they bring up someone for that spot start could be Matz or Syndergard.
 
It was unexpected that Ichiro hit a home run against our lefty reliever. Looks like the old man's still got it.

Might go to Citi Field tomorrow for Harvey Day. Still waiting for my buddies' reply.
 
All of the sudden, the mets look like the mets :frown:
I hate the nats. Playing some bad ball. Flores and murph are a disaster up the middle. I could deal with one being bad, but both are really hurting this team. Hopefully Harvey can right this ship tomorrow.
 
That's why I want Troy Tulowitzki. Not only he can hit, but he is very excellent at defense. Herrera called up. I like him. Mets played well with Herrera in last September.

at this point, i rather have a simmons/hechavaria type player at shortstop than overpaying for tulo or living with what we have. then again, i can live with flores at short if we had a really good defensive second baseman. i just dont see how we can be a winning ball club with these 2 up the middle.
 
Hopefully Harvey stops the bleeding tonight, but Scherzer also on the mound!! Great matchup, reminds me of the Harvey/Strasburg game I went to a couple years ago. HARVEY'S BETTER!!!

might go to the game tonight, friend has tickets, but I'm also trying to set up a date with my female friend's sister. so if that fails harvey day, if it doesn't, potential yambs. seems like a win-win either way.

I Like Wilmer and Murphy, but at this point you can't have them both on the field at the same time. Leave Murph at 3rd while David is out since that is his more comfortable position, and you have to platoon at SS.

Maybe the NL gets a DH next year and Flores can stay :lol:
 
I want to keep Flores as well. Murphy is declining. Trade him before his value drops
 
Murphy doesn't really look like he is declining at all, he missed a lot of time from the hamstring injury and is just starting to get comfortable.

If he does not hit .270 higher then he isn't worth having.

Flores is more of a liability than Murphy defensively, he can't be your starting shortstop for a playoff potential team.

You just can't have both on the field at the same time.
 
they both suck defensively up the middle. I'm ready to move on from both honestly. can tolerate their bats but we need to eventually upgrade.
 
Murphy got his swing back recently. If he's not close to .275 by next month we should seriously consider moving him.

Losing 3 of 4 is not good, especially losing 1-0 on back to back nights.

Good pitching performances, but not having Wright and d'Arnaud is catching up to this offense.
