NEW YORK METS 2016 SEASON THREAD

Backman will never manage here.

I don't see how the Mets will win a single game vs the Giants/Dodgers in their upcoming road trip, they can't hit a lick and they're dreadful on the road.

Agreed.

Wilpon is probably the reason why Backman has his job.
Collins is Alderson's guy |I

Can we sign Easley and Fernando Tatis for road trip only?

^I knew he was at AAA.  I think he's won at every place he's been or improved them and would like to see him get a chance.  Had some personal issues throughout but seems like it's taken care of.  why I think he's destined haha

easly and tatis hahaha

is our bullpen good?!

it's because they haven't been asked to do much. they're all garbage in that pen besides familia. i seen both torres blow/break open too many games.

I think Parnell being back will only help esp being the 8th inning guy, starters will have to give the team 6-7 innings.

Plays the Dodgers on the road, Giants on the road, DBacks at home, Cardinals on the road, and Nats on the road

If the hitting doesn't turn around the season could be over by the all star break.

Nice to see this team coming together, especially at a time where they have fallen apart in years past.

Won each series so far haha I was worried too but matz brough his bat along with his pitching. Won that dodgers game single handedly. Sucks hes gonna miss some time.

Still need more bats

1st half of the season went by a lot better than I expected. Def had its ups and downs though. We needs more bats badly :smh:

Mets won that road trip because this starting pitching is ridiculous, this Mets lineup needs 3-4 bats.

I expect a winning team at this point, nice way to close out the first half though.

My last Mets jersey was Piazza. Gotta get a Harvey, Degrom, Matz, or Noah jersey. Which one is least likely to get moved?

He's already stated he isn't trading any starting pitcher.

Only Colon or Niese should be considered tradable.

If it ever came to trading one of the young guys I hope its Harvey, feel like he would get the best return out of the bunch and I am actually not convinced he's better than any of the other guys really.

We really need to go all in. Yes, these guys are talented enough to dominate for 10 years, but they've all had Tommy John (except Thor). These arms at the velocities they throw at could be timebombs. Try to give them the best chance to win a World Series before something awful happens. Wilpons can't be thinking they have all the time in the world because they don't.

Exactly. Nothing is promised, we have the momentum in the division. The Gnats (or anyone) never thought we'd be 2GB after the ASB. Let's shock the world this year. I really don't want Justin Upton but he's an upgrade offensively over what we have in LF and he's a rental. If he can be had for a low level prospect then sure.

Highly doubt Justin Upton is attainable for a low level prospect. Any deal we try to execute, teams are just going to ask for the young arms.
