3rd Gen Acura TL Owners Enter

No sticker :frown: I checked last night.

Is that supposed to be the new version of the Integra?
Don't think its the new version of the Integra. In fact, don't think they modeled this off of any of their older models. They are trying to introduce a new entry level luxury car. I think the Integra was more focused on sport.

I saw one for the for time the other day and thought to myself "luxury Integra?"

Looks good tho.

The ILX is so out of place. Interior feels too much like a Civic. I got to drive it for a couple of days when they gave me one as a loaner. I'm not sure why they're killing off the TSX. Hopefully they introduce an I4 version of the TL at a lower price to satisfy that market.

I don't see the resemblence to an integra, but yes they def look nice.

They took a lot of elements from the Civic and incorporated into the ILX. What didn't you like about interior? I have the tech package, so I feel the leather seats are nice and comfortable, the electronics are top notch. There is no "would grain" in the interior which is my only complaint.

not my photo but the ILX is clean

^That is it. The interior is pretty much identical to the Civic, which I don't like at all. The price point is too high, higher than the RSX which was the prior entry level Acura.

The only thing cool is the standard keyless entry. I would pony up the extra couple of grand and go with a tsx personally.

What eles should they add to the interior? I can't really think of anything missing in the ILX (tech or premium) that other entry level luxury cars have. I opted not to get the TSX , because I personally liked the body better and gas consumption was a huge factor for me, and the ILX gets great mileage mixed with its styling. I checked out the interior on other models including TSX , TL , and the older TL models most in here are discussing and don't see much difference from the ILX inside honestly.

The ILX is essentially the new version of the Integra. It's a badge engineered Civic just like Integras of the past.

The ILX is the successor of the RSX which is the successor of the Integra
So yes the ILX is basically a Integra

It's not an opinion... it's a fact.
not arguing but I remember when the g35 was the new "skyline".. (yes I know its called a skyline in japan), but everybody knew that wasnt the successor to the r34.

the same applies here i believe. ilx may have filled the void of the small acura, but its not an integra/rsx for sure.

Exactly my point. Ilx is a smaller luxury vehicle intended for the masses, but Acura did not create with the intention to make the new integra or rsx, they had a different vision.

It's not tho. Integra and rsx based off a coupe the ilx is not.

It's a badge engineered version of the Civic Sedan...The fact it's a 4 door doesn't change that.

FYI they made Integra sedans throughout the 80s and 90's. The DC5 is the only Integra that was Coupe only.

The g35 IS the new skyline... it is not the new GTR. When they introduced the new v35 chassis Nissan decided to split the GTR and Skyline into two separate models.

Exactly. There were 4 door Integras sans the DC5. Also, there are many versions of the Skylines. The lower models were very common and not all that impressive performance wise.

Niice romedadude :nthat:

Any updates on ownership in here? Any major repairs or issues since last posting in here?

I'm contemplating a 3rd gen TL as a short commute daily driver. Already have an Accord that we love, so I figured I'd stick with the Honda fam.

Do I really need to avoid the 04-06 TL?

Currently drive an '04 TSX. Love the thing to death, riding it until the wheels fall off. My family has always driven Acura. Mom had a '07 TL, '10 MDX and Grandma has a '14 TSX. As long as you keep up with maintenance the car will treat you right. I've always had my eye on a TL Type S, those things are just so clean stock. I feel like that generation of Acura's is still their best to date. Although that new TLX Type S is fire.

My 07 TL Type S is still going strong :pimp:

Just need to get that 100k maintenance finished soon.

I wanted to get an 07-08 type S, like them a lot, although I see the everywhere. The regular ones, at least.

But I ended up buying something else. These used to be over 15k all day around me, I was finding them for way less than that recently.

I have an 05 around 100k. Been a great car but the Bluetooth went out recently and they want 800 to repair. I think Warranty should cover though
