Shaving thread - Help me out

Ok, so pretty much I've been getting these nasty ingrown hairs on my neck/chin lately and its driving me crazy.

How are you guys keeping your faces smooth NT?

I'm black, so you already know how it goes, I gotta shave with clippers but I'm also using this for the close shave feel without the actual razor -

The razor kills my face. I'll have tons of ingrown hairs if I use one. So I keep it simple with the T-Outliner and Wahl combo.

But I have about 3-4 huge bumps that are killing me. I haven't shaved in over a week now trying to let things grow out and not irritate my skin anymore but I can't take this not shaving business :lol:

Are you guys using any specific products to keep your face clean/bump free? I usually use the Dove men face wash/aftershave/face lotion that comes in a pack together. But maybe its not working for me.

Put me on to any tips/products to use?

I just trim it as short as possible.

As much as I like being clean shaven, sensitive skin makes it feel like hell.
 
I need to know what prevents razor bumps too. Im tired of this Lumberjack I got going on on my face smh.

:smh: I can't even grow a full beard :smh: :smh:

So I gotta shave to keep my face from looking crusty with these patches I grow on my face.


Can't grow full beard; Shaves and gets razor bumps... :smh: :lol:

I used to use that. It would have my face feeling thick and clogged and sticky afterwards. Didn't feel natural

that's why i only put that bump patrol on at night or i leave it on for like 30 minutes and then wash it off

I don't always get bumps....but when I do....I wash my face with soap and water.

No bumps my friends.
 
I'm black, and part of the reason I'm growing my beard is I got real tired of the ingrown hairs and razor bumps from shaving. I will be monitoring this thread for tips :nerd:
 
Think I may need to invest in that wahl shaver, been shaving my face with peanut clippers because I can't shave with a razor either without having tons of razor bumps, ***** aggravating 
 
people have told me a straight edge razor will help

but i don't have the balls to use one

do any of you guys actually use a straight edge?
 
I don't have a specific suggestion but I would say that electric razors are not the answer. From my experience, they make it worse
 
Go pick up some bump patrol playa. 

smh @ myself. reading is fundamental.

Yeah I'm white but get foul razor bumps with anything but a straight razor. That's the only way I can shave. I had to use only s liners before. You won't slit your throat. At least I haven't yet. Get one with disposable blades if you get one. A years worth of blades is like 5 bucks on amazon.
 
Shave in the shower every other day use barbasol for cream and mint alcohol as after shave ,no problems . 100% black here . The only time I ever broke out was from using those cheap Bic razors that are by the registers
 
Black dudes, hell anyone that shaves using shapeup clippers (Outliners), wash your face with soap and water. Leave the soap ON your face for like 5-10 minutes. Wipe off. Let your face get as dry as possible. Then cut the hair off of your face. CLOSER SHAVE. Trust me

Man I don't think there is anything we can do about ingrowns. I get a few in the same exact spots man. Our hair grows curley and when that hair breaks the skin and grows into a new part of the skin, you get ingrowns. It is going to happen man. We just have to deal with it
