"We Require Rappers To Be 'Real' Before They Lie To Us": WHY IT SUCKS TO BE A RAPPER LIKE RICK ROSS

Once a FRAUD...........always a FRAUD, and with that being said frauds of a feather flock together.  Which is why Rick FRAUD even has an existing fanbase to begin with.
You can call Rawse a fraud
Don't you worry about that champ.  I will be sure to.
No

Rick Ross has a fan base because he makes good music.  He has one of the better flows in the game, and the best alliteration in the game.  Put that together with a great ear for beats and you have a superstar rapper.

It's entertainment, I could care less what he really did I look at music as entertainment and an escape.  If you want everything so real and literal stop listening to music and just go live your REAL life.
LOL.  You exaggerate about as good as Rick FRAUD himself.  Like I said earlier, FRAUDS of a feather flock together.

All bets were off when he dropped that Norieaga line. You knew dude was going to utilize hyperbole to the fullest extent. Not eem mad.

It's amazing how everyone just accepts that "only entertainment" ********.

Do your research. The culture was BORN out of authenticity. Then when these puppet masters got a hold of the culture, they brainwashed everyone into believing a form of music that was POWERFUL and influenced conscious thinking...could also be a bunch of fabricated lies about glorified street tales and to look at is as "entertainment". Before anyone compares music to film...understand that Arnold doesn't pretend to be The Terminator when the cameras go off.

Too many people are OK, or just don't care about the bigger picture.

Why is it that Hip Hop...OUR culture...is the only music that this is accepted in?

What do you think would happen if LeAnn Rimes started making songs about owing Noriega a hundred favors?

You guys seriously need to give this **** a rest.

None of these dudes is real... maybe with the exception of 50, but even that could be debated... well not his street cred but other parts.

Jay, Nas, Big, Pac they were all perpetrators too, and exaggerating their persona too.

At this point maybe when I was younger I would have cared more, but as other's have said this **** is just entertainment.

I just listen to the music and if I enjoy it I mess with it... if not I keep it moving.

Perfect example would be Kendrick I don't see what you dudes on here see in him and I don't really rock with his stuff, but I don't go campaigning this and that about dude and what not... it is what it is and I just keep it moving.

But, it's a free country and this is a message discussion board so you dudes go on ahead and talk away about anything you want :D

Jay-Z sold drugs. Nas has not boasted about selling drugs or being tough like that. Big sold drugs. Pac was violent with his own napolean esque complex. What are the lies?

Y'all cats kill me on how y'all pick and chose what are "lies". Even "exaggerations" are lies. You can't tell me you're Scarface just because you sold dime bags......

and if you're denying Ross' popularity, then you're gonna hate regardless.

I can't believe after all these years this is still a topic of discussion lol. I won't pretend to know what Rawse does or doesn't. But i've heard him shout out Zoe Pound and the Boobie Boys on his album......and i've heard no one get at him for doing so. CO or not......this ain't some nerd pretending to be Scarface lol.

I'm saying. While his whole image may indeed be fabricated, why does him being a CO automatically mean everything else was a lie? Cops can't be dirty now? Or he couldn't have gotten that job through a connection while he was doing dirt? Maybe I missed the part where more info came out since I didn't really care, but it almost seems like ___s heard he was a CO and ran wild with assumptions from there in typical drama-loving hip hop fan fashion.

One way or another, the authenticity of an artist doesn't affect or effect me in the slightest. **** won't make a trash artist good.

Right. Its moot. Fan boys and stand are the ones that make this something more than music. This same topic been going on for 5 years on this forum. I thought them cats was like 13 back then so they should be 18 and be far more mature now.

And them Rozay is fake but dudes who people idolize like Jeezy, Gucci, Z-Ro, Yo Gotti, Rocko, Jay, etc. all do songs with him.....but fake guys flock together...

Current rappers that I listen to for the most part........Jay Z, Jeezy, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Fabolous, and J. Cole.  Even with that being said, I never tried to deny Ross's popularity at all champ.  However, there's a difference from a rapper being popular to them being a SUPERSTAR rapper, which you alluded to with Ross with your earlier statement.  Ross IMO is not a superstar rapper.

This is what I was getting at with OP

Where is the line drawn?

Personally I agree with most posts in here, it's just entertainment . . . don't take it anymore serious than pro wrestling lol.

But I just want to know how y'all feel, replies calling Ross a fraud, but then where is the line drawn? Obviously a lot of rappers did what they did, but how do y'all feel about them exaggerating and also talking about their exploits in present tense, acting as if they are still currently in that lifestyle? What is the difference between that and Ross?

Can we talk about how Drake - Connect has been one of the realest songs in the past 5 years?

I just like the man's music. The mindset of how real rappers were was thrown out the window a long time ago for me.

I'd say dudes like Rae/Ghost, B.G. and Project Pat are a tad authentic...

The only ppl who really give a **** are the ppl risking their lives/freedom doin the **** for real, that feel their lifestyles are being mocked.

and the ****** who tryna pretend to be these ****** and feel disappointed when they find their favs to be ordinary *** ******

personally, I dont know none of these rap ******, Ion give a **** what they do/did, just make some fire *** music for me to bang

Cole, K.R.I.T. and Kendrick got next and they don't have to lie to kick dope rhymes, or entertain us. I don't see why Ross should get a pass for using lies to make up for his bad rapping. If your going to lie at least be a good rapper you can at least do that

Even the rappers that have done dirt lie about ****. Unless we're talking about super concious rappers all of these dudes brag about **** they don't have or haven't done. And lying is lying, miss me with that "exaggerating" talk.

Clearly the rap audience today ain't built the same as it was once.

Right, I can't pretend to be Scarface because I sold dime bags. But I can rap about selling drugs, right?

How many cats out here are really pretending to be Scarface?

A lot of y'all playing dumb if you don't know the difference between stretching the truth (poetic license if you will) and lying.

Ross' lies go well beyond his music.

OMG

SINCE YOU ALL ARE TRIPLE OG DRUG DEALING MURDERS, DON'T LISTEN TO ROSS BECAUSE YOU CAN'T RELATE TO HIM!!

Can we get a  I hate Rick Ross sticky? So anytime dudes want to release their anger and say clever things like "rick fraud" or "officer Ricky" they can  say it and feel better about themselves and carry on with their day (a day of drug dealing and murdering because obviously this is what NT does and you guys need to listen to the REAL in order to relate).

It's 2014 and ppl still talking about this? wow

What's funny is that Ross is the only one that gets heavily scrutinized like that, but he still came out winnin.

If that didn't picture affect him, what can?

Ross portrays a character. He took the name of a drug kingpin and talks that kingpin talk.

We know he's acting. He knows he's acting. And he does a good job of staying in character.

It's ****** up that 'rap' is supposedly based on authenticity while many rappers spew lies every song but since the 80's there's been "real" rappers and "fictional" rappers. Ain't nothing new.

What's crazy tho is that most of this Rick Fraud talk I be hearing comes from dudes that are not in the streets.

When I be around G's they bumpin that MMG

I say that to say this, I don't support Rozay's fictional tales but if ppl wanna get at him stop giving other guys a pass.
