If all players on current NBA teams were in their primes, who would be best?

Lebron, Bosh and Chalmers are definitely in their prime....Wade is maybe slightly off his prime

Y'all act like there is more than one ball on the court at a time...there's a limit on what players who have the same skill set can do together

Wade isn't even 50% of what he used to be.

Wade and Ray Ray are 2 of the greatest shooting guards of all time and they have polar opposite playing styles.

Rashard Lewis used to give guys 20+ per game shooting 40% from downtown and he could really move at 6'10. Played nothing like Bosh.

19 year old Greg Oden is defensively better than most centers in the league.

Come on man 50 percent?!?

Like I said y'all act like there's more than one ball

Are any of these prime guys going to rebound and play post defense?

You must forget what 2006-'09 Dwyane Wade looks like.

Modern day version is practically in a wheel chair in comparison.

What the hell does "one ball" even mean in this context?

Are the Nets playing with 2 balls?

Bron would probably fall back a bit and average 10+ assists on this team.

Oden, Birdman, Haslem, Bosh, Lewis, Bron and Battier should suffice on the glass.

Their rebounding and post defense would only improve.

When 2006 D Wade is slashing through the defense, what's Lebron doing? Probably sitting in the short corner doing nothing

And we saw how that worked out in the 2011 NBA Finals

The same thing could be said Lewis or Ray Allen

There's only one ball for them to work with

You keep talking about scoring and shooting?

That's not the Heats problem right now

None of what you said improves their current weaknesses

Real teams need to have role players

Guys who work without the ball and do dirty work

On real teams, guys have egos and need to get into a rhythm

You're taking about the defending back-to-back NBA Champions and a team that might 3 peat in a few months...

But we should believe in the nucleus that hasn't proven jack **** together and has been a colossal failure?

How does Birdman, Haslem and Battier no longer being in their mid 30s not help the team?

You keep ignoring a healthy Greg Oden as if that's meaningless.

I'm almost positive that the 2008 Boston Celtics would be a better team than the current Nets team in their prime.

Rondo is a MUCH better PG in that situation (scorers everywhere).

Ray > Joe.

Joe and P2 would never play well together, especially with a scoring PG at the 1.

Brook Lopez does nothing for me.

Put it this way, they weren't stars at being role players

I don't really see any change in production from now to then

A center that's gives you 20 PPG and blocks shots does nothing?

Prime kobe washes all of those teams. Add to that prime nash n pau...dynasty.

I don't know but that Nets team would be pretty good w/ a prime AK47 coming off the bench.

Anybody that says the Lakers has NO idea what the hell they're talking about.

That team would have no chemistry because KoBean would cry like a baby because Nash is handling the ball.

Gasol wouldn't be anything special without another monster 7-footer with him. You guys seriously underestimate the role Odom played on that team, and Bynum played a bigger role.

KoBean can't win without 2-3 of the best 7-footers in the league (Shaq counted as 3 himself).

I can't believe you guys think this team would stand a chance. They would be 2nd round exit at best.

And that's without me even bringing up the question of "are the current coaches going to be coaching the team?"

This would literally come down to only the Heat, Nets and Spurs... but the Heat are far and away the favorites. I haven't even seen one person mention Oden yet.

LeBron/Ray/Wade/Bosh/Oden... look at that starting 5. You think anyone is beating this team in a 7-game series?

Maybe once every 5 years, and it would only be the Nets or Spurs... but that's unlikely too.

Back to the Lakers... let's not even talk about the Heat/Spurs/Nets. They wouldn't even get past the Warriors or Thunder.

What is Gasol going to do vs. those front lines? Have you guys thought about how beastly a Bogut/O'Neal front line would be in their prime? Gasol is doing NOTHING vs. them.

What is Gasol going to do vs. Perkins and Ibaka?

You keep forgetting, he doesn't have another 7-footer to hide behind.

Nash is going to guard Curry or Westbrook?

Iguodala + the basketball rim will combine to stop KoBean.

Sefalosha + the basketball rim will combine to stop KoBean, and that's not even mentioning if Durant guards him half the game.

KoBean will stop Nash.

The Lakers.

You all are out of your mind.

 @ KoBean

Now that I think about it, I think Joe Johnson would be the 6th man on that Nets team.

Deron
P2
AK47
KG
Lopez

Not bad.

Also, what Oden are we getting on that Heat team?

Dude didn't even really have a prime.

Got this idea from an ESPN article a while back. Hypothetically speaking of course, if all players on current NBA teams were healthy and in their primes who do you think would win the championship this year? Below are notable teams with their most notable players. Remember, all would be in their primes.

Heat: Wade, Lebron, Bosh, Rayray
Knicks: Melo, Chandler, STAT, JRSmith
Lakers: Kobe, Nash, Pau
Nets: DWill, Pierce, KG, Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez
Mavs: Dirk, Vinsanity, Monta
Pacers: PG, Lance, Roy Hibbert, DWest
Bulls: DRose, Boozer, Noah
OKC: Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka
Rockets: D12, Harden, Lin
Spurs: Tony Parker, Timmy, Ginobili
Clips: CP3, Griffin, Deandre Jordan, Danny Granger
Other?

How would they rank?
  • notable players

  • jeremy lin
pick one.

Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Ray Allen :x
don't forget how good Lewis was in his prime
Shane Battier
Udonis
Greg Oden

Thats way better than prime Duncan, Parker, Ginobli
