He's batting .260, down .20 points from 10 days ago. 5 homers,18 RBI's. That's not beastly.

Yea I understand he was on the DL and didn't play the whole month of April, but he's still not as good as what J RAIN makes him out to be.

Dukes is at best a .265 hitter.

And the only reason why his AVG is so high right now is because he didn't play all of April. Had he played in April, he probably would've batted .167like he did in May.

i'm gonna focus on ELIJAH DUKES BEASTLINESS. The BONA FIDE BEAST unleashed again! Dukes DEMOLISHED an inside Cueto fastball effortlessly. how dare Cuetotry and test Dukes! 3RD HOMER IN 4 GAMES! the Beast is going on a rampage and i pity any pitcher that stands in his way. 30 homers is a STRONG possibility,he'll easily hit 20+. i just SMH at his superior strength. Dukes = strongest player in baseball. Like i said, baseball players should not be built likethat, it's unfair and inhuman.

Dukes > Nationals. #34 is the only one worth watching anymore.

Dude, seriously. I really think you do this just to piss people off.

If he's SUCH a beast, then why is 30 homers a strong possibility? Shouldn't such a beast finish with 40,45,50,55?

If you really think he's the strongest player in baseball, please go watch A-Rod, Howard, Pujols. Those are strong guys.

And btw, beasts should bat atleast .280 and above. This bum will never even sniff that.

Jul 3 Dukes went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk in Thursday's loss at Cincinnati.
Recommendation: Dukes has looked like a potential franchise player over the last month, and a terrific fit as Washington's No. 3 batter. It will be interesting to see if Dukes can remain on the straight and narrow for the balance of the year, but you can't deny his raw skills.

CINCINNATI (AP)-Washington left fielder Elijah Dukes was carted off the field after injuring his right kneecap in the seventh inning of the Nationals' game at Cincinnati on Saturday night.

Dukes slammed into the left-field wall backward after catching Jay Bruce's fly ball. He fell to the warning track and flipped the ball to center fielder Roger Bernadina, who returned it to the infield and went back to check on Dukes before calling for help.

Dukes held his right knee while laying on the ground and being carted off. He was being evaluated by the Reds' medical staff.

Dukes went into the game hitting .262 and was 1-for-3 with a double. The score was 1-1 at the time of the injury.

Second baseman Willie Harris was moved to left field and Ronnie Belliard went in at second base.

not even gonna lie, those tragic pictures bring a tear to my eye. what a disaster. When Dukes went down and i saw him grimacing in pain...

. it was heartbreaking.

Dukes tore his meniscus/patella tendon and will be on the dl 4-6 weeks minimum. i might just have to go on the "dl" myself and retire this thread.

Dukes should just rehab the rest of the season and come back stronger and better than ever in '09.
