Shoes fell apart on my feet

I purchased 4 pairs of Nike Air Maxes back in the late 1990's and stored them away in my closet. I was keeping them as part of a running shoe collection that I have. I recently decided to try them on, and when I put them on and took a few steps, the soles literally fell apart on my feet. The air soles were deflated also. The rest of my running shoe collection, consisting of other brands, had no such problem. I called Nike Headquarters and told them what happened, but they said they could not replace them or give me any satisfaction at all. I paid over $300 for all these shoes and feel I should get some value for my money. If I had know this was going to happen, I would have worn them when I first got them. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not looking for my money back, but surely Nike could offer me replacement shoes if they wanted to.

Toss them out and take the L. It's not Nike's fault if the shoes fall apart because you didn't wear them for 20 years.

Nike doesn't owe you ****. Nothing lasts forever. If you had known what you were doing, you wouldn't have kept them DS. Take the L and be smarter next time

No nike can't because you should've worn them instead of keeping them DS for all that time.

Moisture...  No gel packets or damp rid in the closet?

Maybe shoogue can fix them back up

Those gel packs and lack of moisture actually speed up the cracking process. What are you talking about?

I knew guys who never wore their shoes and wrapped them up in plastic bags with those moisture free packs. In a couple years their entire collection was trash lol

FUNNIEST THING I'VE READ ALL WEEK. Homie behind the phone telling all his coworkers, "Yo this guy wants a refund on 20 year old shoes!"

Why don't you return everything else that's ever fallen apart on you too?

If if was your money I'm pretty sure you wouldn't say take the loss so quickly. As I mentioned, all the other running shoes in my collection, including  Asics, New Balance, and Brooks show no signs of wear and have lasted all those years. Let me ask you, why should shoes fall apart with age if kept stored away at home, apparently only Nike does. Anyway, I've said my peace.  Lesson to learn - don't store Air-Maxes away for any length of time. In all fairness, I have other Nike's other than the Air Max, and they are perfect, no signs of wear over the years. Don't get me wrong, I like Nike's very much and they are good shoes overall. I think this was just particular to the Air Max line from back then. Oh, for those who think this is so damn funny, I almost fell coming down the stairs because the sole separated when I was coming down. So thanks for the supportive words and kiss my ***.
