I drink a lot and I will never understand how someone drives so drunk they end up on the opposite side of the road. I used to drive drunk before I got a wake up call but it was to the point where I would know I'm over the limit but never in the position to do something that dumb.

Way I see it is, there's a difference between buzzed driving and drunk driving.
Me personally I know I can drive after a few beers. If I recently drank 3 or more, I won't even attempt to because I know I'm not good.
I very rarely do though because being underage, anything will get you a DUI.
We need to lower the drinking age.

You can't even do that. You can potentially get a DUI for even sleeping in the car drunk. Reason being is you could possibly say not set your car in park and still cause an accident.
Ditch the car and get someone to pick you up or get a taxi. Just get away from your car cause there is so many ways they can get you on a DUI.

Heck yea the others got off easy. I never crashed into a occuipied apt building because i passed out or got 3 DUi's within 1 week.. Or crashed my brand new car into a house. All those people got off with reduced dui...Crazy stuff, guess they had money

Somewhat. Think about just smoking weed when i party but I dont want to lose my brain cells and become dumb. Sometimes i still drink but I kno wmy limit, I can have just have about 2 or 3 drinks or I spread my beers out to 12oz per hour

No not true. You can deny the breath test on the scene any state but some states DMV will suspend your license for 3 months or whatever it is automatically but that depends on your state. Some states you cant deny the main test or blood test but you can deny the on scene breath test and soberity test
Since i got 3 DUIs now I got to take the test or they will automatically draw my blood after they get a warrant, its a new law here

Best thing to do is hide the keys outside of the car in some bushes and sleep in the back seat to 100% cover your self.

I denied the breathalyzer too. Automatic week in jail from the time you are taken in. A year revoked license and bumped it up to a gross mis. My advice is unless you are almost blackout drunk just blow. I got the same punishment as a

If you sleep in the car and the keys aren't in the ignition or readily accessible, you can't get the DUI. However, they can charge you with public intoxication.

Yeah me and my a few of my boys are starting a food truck which is ready to open in a few weeks once the permits get approved and the construction is finished. I'm still cooking full time too somewhere else so I'm pretty strapped for time. It's a lot more work than we originally thought. Of course that's how it always goes.

OP, your friend is probably looking at $5k-$10k in fines, court fees, etc...He will have to do Community Service & DUI classes...2yrs of Probation...but that's probably it....no jail time or breathalyzer installed in his car if this is his first offense...Looks like your friend is the type that has to learn things the hard way...a taxi would have been so much cheaper...
But he's really lucky he didn't hurt himself or worse, someone else...I hate people who drink & drive, losing a loved one to a drunk-driver is a horrible thing to go through...|I

For real. Anyone asking why someone would get behind the wheel knowing you are drunk...remember that same drink can cause a man to sleep with a hippo if the urge is there. Logic is really thrown out the door with alcohol, so its no wonder why people thing they can drive while impaired.

Again....this is false. Not saying you'd have some issues with getting a job but having one DUI record isn't as bad as it seems unless you are doing a driving job like UPS or trucking. As far as corporate goes, if your credentials and work history speaks for itself, then you should be good. It just depends on the job and company and you as an employee. In my line of business (insurance), drinking is such a big thing that having a DUI isn't really a big deal. HR and companies are more concerned with other things like fraud, robbery, etc.
But...having 2 or 3 DUIs is a different story. Then you aren't reliable as an employee. I know a girl that got hired at my last job with one DUI and she got another one later and she can't get a new job for nothing.
