Friend got a DUI

Get a lawyer
Got one nearly 3 years ago, the lawyer cost me about $1500 and they handled it. I didn't catch the BAC in this thread but I blew a .09, so I got a wet n reckless and had to attend classes for a month. I had to get that SRT insurance, but didn't and am just public transportating it everywhere. I'm off probation in January(confirmed by the DMV)and can get my license like a normal person(i'm sure there is a behind the wheel involved)
The worst part was the ride home with my wife after a night in the drunk tank. She called my parents because she was worried and told them, they were cooler than I thought and didn't really care, but maaaaaan the ride home with my wife and being home with her were rough and I deserved it.
she can't wait till January rolls around :lol:
get a lawyer, I live in Cali too

be glad you didnt put someone in the hospital or kill someone or KILL Yourself

now deal with it like a man

you won't have to go to jail, and you won't lose your job (maybe) and you won't have to pay a TON of money out to someone else, hopefully you won't get license suspended either......

IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE

if you're gonna go out and drink i don't see why everyone doesn't get an uber or lyft. you'll probably have a better time since you don't have to think about how you're gonna get home

Wow dhart how did you get a lawyer for only 1500? Where at?
I spoke to this one lawyer his firm is the DUI man.
Says I won't get jail time. They gave me a temp license. He says that he can get it to be indefinite. Will go to court for me and get me to go to AA meetings now to show them that I care and and get it lowered to wreckless. All this for about 3500
 
I live in Maryland and I got one in 2011. The court punishment wasnt that bad. License suspended for 6 months, 1000 court fee AA class 1 year probation. It was the after effects. The insurance hike and having to put it down on job background checks. Most companies dont care as long as its one so I took it all in stride though and fought through. I blew a .18 so yeah twice the legal limit smh.

Now a days if I know im going to be drinking I just drop my car off home and uber it up

to the guy who just one one, perfect example..........it could have been 10Xs worse

Coworker of my spouse's husband actually hooked me up with his freshly passed the bar best friend. He spoke highly of me, said I was cool guy, really vouched for me(no tats,not thuggish. blew a .09, etc). He talked to me before he suggested his boy a couple of times and was like "man these past couple of times I've talked to you, you sound down and out, usually when we talk you got jokes, hella happy and ish, you usually got me howling in real life and smiling on the phone"

This was seriously the first time I'd ever been in trouble and I was already mad at myself because I'd never been arrested and had a goal to keep it that way(I'm black if you haven't figured). When I talked to my mom in the drunk tank she already knew what it was and was like "i know you are upset you in the system now, but you live and you learn"(think that's why they took it easy on me, plus they knew my wife was gonna give it to me bad and not at all in a good way)

Trust me, I know how stupid I was, and those classes reminded me of how bad it could've been, real talk some people are in there for months even years, I was pretty much the unicorn of the class being there for a month and I still felt like a scumbag everyday I was there. Pretty much the biggest L i will ever take.

no I'm in the bay area, sorry should've specified, plus it's been 3 years, I know he works for some law firm out here. I was more of his first case before he went to the big leagues, just to get more experience in the courtroom and not pushing papers all the time. I don't know much about Law but I'm also sure it made him look good that he got me what he got me. I'm sure working for a firm, you wouldn't get that price. It was a win win for both of us.

I had a boy of mine get a DUI/DWI back in seattle in college. He was riding his bike (pedal bike) across campus and cop stopped him.. smh..

Alcohol and any recreational drugs (legal or illegal). Even percribed medication.

My uncle got a DUI for driving under his pain medication. :lol: Even though he had paperwork and everything.

Bruh, my girls parents neighbor got a DUI on a riding lawn mower while cutting his own grass. Dudes wife left him for a Karate instructor that had a store 5 min walk from their house. He leaves and literally moves 2 houses down. He and the Karate instructor decides to go half on a riding lawn mower and they will keep it at the the Karate instructor and ex wife house. This week the guy goes to get the lawn mower gets drunk while cutting his lawn runs over the neighbors roses and totally destroys them. Police are called they come while hes driving the thing back to the ex-wifes house. Its a mostly white neighborhood and everyone was in shock. I was out their dying laughing because I saw the whole thing unfold. best weekend ever.

My girls mom had me on the floor. Kept saying "White People" and she white.

It was a funny experience for a black kid from Acres Homes Houston TX.
