MALAYSIA LOSES CONTACT WITH PLANE CARRYING 239

what exactly is a black box? is it just a "box" that records?
you telling me this data cant be stored in the clouds

At this point, I'm just waiting till they do find the black box and they 'open' it or whatever and a bunch of fake snakes explode out of it

^^ Pretty sure that has been posted before

We have 2 weeks left to find the black box?

No. Two weeks until the transponder ON the black box dies. Hell, the transponder could have been damaged in a crash, so it may not even work. The black box never "dies", it just shuts off like a computer. In the Air France crash, they didn't find the black box until they found the wreckage two years later. They were still able to pull data off the device, and it had been submerged in salt water.

It's a computer, located in the tail of the plane, that records everything that happens during the flight (in terms of electronics, systems, mechanics, etc.). Anything the pilots do manually, is captured on the black box. It's basically a comprehensive record of the flight. There's also a the cockpit voice recorder which is in the cockpit. You can't remove it, and it captures all dialogue in the cockpit, regardless of whether it's through the radio or not.

And, no, they can't store it in a cloud.

I heard the black box only records 2 hours of data. If that's true and the plane flew for 7 hours afterwards, we might miss what really happened

The cockpit recorder cycles every two hours, so it's possible they won't get anything from that if it just kept flying and crashed. The data recorder records the last 24 hours of the plane's activity.

so they find it or what?

They won't. Not for yearssss. That part of the Indian Ocean, losing contact, etc

It's going to be one of those mysteries that conspiracy theorists are going to go crazy with for years.

It's looking like that now. Those Aussies trolled those victim's families bad...

im sorry but i hate that this is all over the news and all they are doing on every channel is speculating..

it would be kind of cool to hear about other things going on in the world.

i dont watch tv but when i take my breaks they have it on CNN and fox and its just getting annoying.

im speaking on the media aspect of this whole situation so dont call me insensitive and all that.

the news coverage does not make a difference in whether the plane is recovered or not.

I'm in Barcelona right now and they're covering it on CNN europe, BBC, Al Jazzera, and every other media outlet in the world.

where did that picture of the plane come from that was posted here? I assume that it's fake?

Yea, pretty much.

I think they'll find some sort of debris this week, but as far as figuring out what happened, I don't think they'll ever find out.

It'll just be a bunch of speculation until the end of time.

Rubio will find his jumper before they find a black box from MH370.
