I can't seem to really identify the difference between the fake and legit except for the soles. can anyone help me understand better?
 
What pisses me off is that these manufacturers of fake shoes from China are advertising their products on instagram, youtube, and google +. Just make sure that you guys don't buy from these manufacturers from China. If you're gonna buy on ebay check on the feedback on the person selling the shoe. Make sure that person is based in the US. Compare the photos that they posted  on ebay to the legit photos that they have here. 
 
I'm a noob to the Jordan game, and I found myself some easy prey on ebay for some fake 2012 Breds. Oh well, life goes on, and I don't touch ebay anymore -- only GOAT!

I wanted to post some telltale signs that made it obvious to even my untrained eye that these breds were fake, in case they end up helping anyone else avoid purchasing a fake.

First pic shows a 23 stretched out way too wide, plus you can see that the ball from the Jumpman comes up much too high. In the second pic, you can see how off the sole color is, plus how unnaturally opaque it is (the Jumpman on the bottom barely shows through).

UPDATE: LC thread gave a fake verdict as well -- in addition to 23 and sole color being off, the toe box and puffy collar were mentioned as offenders.

Edit: Adding some more pictures for reference (these shoes are FAKE!)

The ball not lining up with the 23 is not a tell tale sign. Plenty of legit 11s bought from retailers that have that

Also the jumpman on the bottom is not supposed to be clearly visible.

You're better off posting more pics of the shoes for reference though

Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated. The height of the ball looked really off to me when I compared it with the "legit" pics in the original post, plus when I compared it to pics of another Bred in a recent LC thread that forum members certified to be legit. Also, regarding the sole, the legit soles I've seen bring out the Jumpman much more and seem more "red" than mine. I'm not an expert though.

Do you think it's worthwhile to start a legit check thread? I'm 99% sure these are fake -- regardless off the ball height, the 23 and the upper heel shape in general looks off to me. Obviously, I'd be thrilled to have a legit pair on hand, but the heel and soles in particular don't appear to match up with any "legit" references.
 
Might as well start one and like I said just for reference pictures of the whole shoe and them together always help the thread for reference
 
Thanks again. I've edited my original post to include additional reference images, and I'll start an LC thread to let others share their opinion on them. If these are somehow found to be legit, then I'll edit my post again to reflect this.

UPDATE: LC thread returned "fake" verdict as well.

Legit? Had em for 2 years now and never thought to really look into it in depth until now, obviously. Was whitening the mesh with all the recommended methods and it turned out perfect.. Nice and bright white. Thought all was good but water got inside the shoe and now the patent leather won't stop bleeding onto the mesh. Never saw this happen before to anyone else's so I'm assuming I got a bad pair? Think I give up on eBay for shoe purchases after this.View media item 2121230
