I moved out at 18. It ruined my life kuz I wasn't ready. All I did was get wasted n then eventually it all caught up to me. Lost my car, job, phone, n eventually apartment. It was damn near 8 years ago n I'm barely now starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. However, I do take responsibility for my actions kuz I was just doing too much after high school (selling dope, gang banging, etc.) but it was the best learning experience of my life n I wouldn't change it for nothing.

Good luck tho, if you're planning on it. Best piece of advice I can give is to save for a few months to a year before hand, that way you have some cheese to fall back on if/when you're struggling.

EDIT: docta too ill

I moved out at a decent young age. No regrets, that's when I officially became an adult and handle my own life and the life of another.

After college when I was 22 and got a full time job....nope I don't regret it at all...nothing like freedom around your own house

17...

Hadn't spent more than a week at home since.

24 now...

Living on your own >>>>>>>>>>>*

Its so free... So liberating. It sucks when you have to stay at someone else's house for more than 2 days...

No roommates >>>>>>>>*

I don't care what anyone says... I'd rather have a lame apartment dolo than move with my parents to try and stack for a house...

Move out soon...like before 20. Moved out when I was 17, dorm life, back when I geaduated for a year at 23 (worst decision ever) now I'm 25 and been on my own for two years. How can you learn to take care of yourself/a family if you always have someone else taking care of you? Trust, you don't realize how much the rents do for you until you move out on your own. Sure, life ain't gonna be as sweet as when you were home, but trust, you'll feel like an actual adult when you move out, idk bout y'all but bring a child ain't what's up, no respect.

Live with your parents until you know you can financial take care of yourself

If your either working, and or going to school still, there's no shame in living at home with your parents

My folks always told us to save our money, and continue school...then once we get a steady job, then it's a smart choice to leave

I still live with my mom. I'm 24. I only live with her because I help her out with bills since I make more money. It would actually be a finacial relief moving out on my own, but i can't leave mom dukes out to struggle.

This.

I left at 19 and I haven't been back since.

I don't regret it at all, when I moved out I didn't really struggle, having a decent job helps.

I couldn't imagine moving back in with parents, hell I don't even want a roommate.

still living with my parents.. 23 and working.. definitely not ready financially to get a decent place to stay

Moved out at 23 when I graduated and started my career, I only moved out because I had to be really close to work, graveyard plus on call 5 nights a week.
I'm 26 now and don't plan on ever turning back
No struggle either, career pays well

Moved out at 20 and it was one of the best decisions of my life. Life was great under my parents roof, but there's nothing like being your own man. Yamb levels increased too!..

I moved out at 18 when I joined the Military, Being able to come home to YOUR OWN "home" is the best feeling ever :pimp:

i went away for college after HS.  after college, i came back for 2 years until I paid off my very first car loan.  Once that was over, i was out.  My mom didn't like my GF at the time and told me I had to go.  We were always arguing b/c she felt like my paycheck was hers.  Even tho I was paying most of the bills, she wasn't hearing it.

So I came home from work one night and there was a note on the mirror in the bathroom.  She gave me 30 days to get out.  I left in 3.  Packed all my stuff and lived with my pops for a month.  Found my first apt and never looked back.  I was 24 at the time.

It was cool tho b/c I had started buying furniture and everything that I needed months before I left.  Only spent 2 nights on the floor and boom the place was furnished.

Once I moved, my mom and I got along very well after that.

So nah i don't regret it.  I was actually looking forward to leaving.  I hated staying there after being in college.

Moved out at the ripe old age of 25. Don't regret it for a second. It's a lot of responsibility, but there's nothing like having your own space.

My question is ,to those who moved out before 21, what kind of job did you guys have? How much was your rent?
I could move out right now if I wanted to but I would be living paycheck to paycheck hardcore..for right now. Maybe I need that lesson in life...
Since I'm paying for school with my own money I don't want to not be able to afford it .
