When did you move out and do you regret it?

Good luck tho, if you're planning on it. Best piece of advice I can give is to save for a few months to a year before hand, that way you have some cheese to fall back on if/when you're struggling.

Quoted for emphasis. This is the best advice you can give to someone about to move out. You will thank yourself.

My moms passed away when I was 18, and my pops moved to Florida when I was 19. Best thing about it is having a rent controlled apartment to yourself in queens at 19. I'm pretty lucky.

17...

Hadn't spent more than a week at home since.

24 now...

Living on your own >>>>>>>>>>>*

Its so free... So liberating. It sucks when you have to stay at someone else's house for more than 2 days...

No roommates >>>>>>>>*

I don't care what anyone says... I'd rather have a lame apartment dolo than move with my parents to try and stack for a house...

Thats how I feel I would rather have an ok apartment then move with parents and stack up for years

Still living with parents at 23...just got my foot into the door for my career so hopefully my next job is a better one with better pay. Looking to move out within the next couple years

Never went back after school.

.also.....I remember wen I was living at home....no food in da house.

Now its just my sister and my mom....go home open the pantry
Debbi cakes
Namebrand chips
Assorted oreos
Various candies
cereal in boxes
Pizza in the freezer

da hell.

I still live with my mom. I'm 24. I only live with her because I help her out with bills since I make more money. It would actually be a finacial relief moving out on my own, but i can't leave mom dukes out to struggle.
im feelin like this

even tho i literally live at several female's establishments (got keys to they place and all)

in b4 "youre a free loader"

Live with your parents until you know you can financial take care of yourself

If your either working, and or going to school still, there's no shame in living at home with your parents

My folks always told us to save our money, and continue school...then once we get a steady job, then it's a smart choice to leave
Pretty much the plan. Saving a stupid amount of money, the pros greatly outweigh the cons if you have a nice parent(s).

You don't need to save anything, all you need is steady income. If you don't make enough to afford furniture gradually you shouldn't be moving out anyway.

I know ppl 25+ living at home. College educated people with careers. CT isn't cheap.

Those who moved out and financially stable,

what US city do you live in, if that is applicable

Considering the COL + Rent

I moved out for college but ended back home after graduation so I don't really count that time since my mom helped me with a majority of my bills.

But I moved out on my own for what I like to think of as the first time this past Feb. Not regretting it at all.

Moved out at 17 for college. Lived back home during summer after my first year. Said never again and moved out "for good" at 18. After graduating one of my roommates messed up our lease (broke *** :smh: ) and I had to move back for a few months because I couldn't afford the last month rent + damages (broke dude also was sloppy & reckless) + deposit and first months rent (was like $2000 total...no option.)

If you are planning on moving, save up as much as possible. When you do move, save up as much as possible. I hated living with my mom at 21 after graduating. Not having an emergency fund was naive, because it could have been worse.

After that i moved in with my girl and its eh. :\ if you're in your early 20s , don't move in with your gf. Live by yourself if you can. I only had the chance to once in college and that was easily the best year of my life.

moved out with the mother of my child a couple of years ago....left my moms house and got our own place.....now me and her are broken up , my mom is in orlando now and im in miami......i work for my boys towing company so my job isnt the highest paying but its gauranteed and i get paid weekly.....i get about $500 per week after taxes , got child support and a car payment.......this will be my first time ever living without momma or gf ...... i came to my grandfathers but ive been here like 8 months and im not feeling it .............yolo

25 years old by the way , i plan to move by my 26th bday in october , ill let you know how it goes in a few years (hopefully i last) op...

24, having a kid made me stay with my mommy longer than I would have liked. It's all good. I'm about to be 27 stacking and doing good.

Graduated from College June 1 , moved out of moms Crib, by August, was 22

I went from a room, to a one bedroom, to now too many damn rooms,

You can't leave ya momma house when you comfortable, you gotta grind, learn how to budget and support yourself,

After 25, regardless of you're situation, people don't take you serious, when you still home

And other than missing my mother and noticing how she and my brother have "changed" , Never regret moving out the crib.........

21 and at home with parents still.

Cost of living is so damn high in NYC I don't see myself moving out any time soon if its around here..
