Rashard Mendenhall 'Why I Retired At 26' Vol. Real enough for General too

You're the guy Mendenhall is directly talking to in that write-up

I am just a guy who says it how it is. He's talking about the HATE he received from making a twit about Bin Laden..

The Pittsburgh Steelers running back on Monday tweeted: "What kind of person celebrates death? It's amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We've only heard one side..."

Mendenhall didn't hold back, even making a reference to the Sept. 11 attacks.

"We'll never know what really happened. I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style," he tweeted.

But come on.. @ ya all talking like Mendenhall is Pat Tillman or a potential hall of famer. He's nothing more than a veteran free agent RB with nagging injuries whom at best will sign for the league veteran minimum of $700k in 2014. Talking about giving up millions... he is nothing special, but because he wrote an articulate piece, dude deserves praise? Give me a break.

Everything he touched him just goes to show you how he unlike many other players have figured it out

Leave healthy and with enough money

Ummm, SunDoobie, your post I was referring to had nothing at all to do with his 9/11 comments, so I'm not sure why you even posted that

If I was smart I would've done the same thing. Refine my athletic skill enough to make millions and get out early to enjoy them.

Props to him. No point in playing anymore if you've lost your passion for the sport.
Let him enjoy his life.
