Nike shipping to canada?

those duties go into the government's pocket, not nike's. if you're saying nike themselves could add an absurdly high levy like ftl does, then yes, they could easily do that. that 34% is definitely more than taxes and duties

^ still adds a shipping fee. most places will charge another small fee to remove the invoice from your package to avoid the duties that will still result if you try to reship your own package through customs. that can add up to a big deal.

The exchange rate isn't that great for shopping in the US right now though.
even with the terrible exchange rate, it's still cheaper to buy off ndc and then ship up here than it is to buy retail from a canadian footlocker

???
The latest Jordan 7 release was $190 USD, which works out to $240 CAD. That's already Canadian retail without factoring in shipping from the U.S. to Canada. I guess after shipping it works out to be about even if you're in a province with the highest sales tax and this is assuming you don't get hit with any taxes or duties on delivery. But even then, you're still better off buying from a Canadian retailer.

NDC would only be beneficial for NikeID IMO, everything else you're better off just buying from a Canadian retailer

i guess it depends on the shoe model. with the wtk9s, you definitely came out ahead buying from the states. but yeah, you're right. i'm in ontario and that 13% sales tax isn't fun. people living in provinces with lower taxes are probably better off buying locally if the exchange continues to worsen

I agree. As long as you have access to what you want locally, it is better to buy where you are. When the exchange rate is on par, it may be beneficial to buy and have items shipped from the US. For Nike IDs, you don't have many options right now since they don't ship to Canada.

It's stupid thought footlocker ca holds off on the more hyped up releases and only ure left with kids sizes or infant models like nvr got that I mean so unless your in a big city basically excludes you from the most desirable releases.

The duties/customs are gonna be brutal lol.
I like my current method of shipping to my spot in NYC and scooping it up when I show up so I have gear to rock right away :pimp:

Something I came across on the Nike site when looking for updates about possible shipping to Canada.

CAN NIKEID PRODUCTS BE SHIPPED TO CANADA?
"NIKEiD is not currently offered in Canada. NIKEiD is available in the US, Japan, China and select European countries only.

Orders on Nike.com (US) can be purchased using a credit card with a Canadian billing address, but the order shipping address must be within the US.

As part of Nike's investment in digital infrastructure and services for our Nike+ community, we're extending e-commerce capabilities into Canada via Nike.com in the 2015 holiday season."

Seems like the expansion will happen in November ish, which is pretty soon thankfully. I hadn't realized they were going to finally offer canadian shipping until stumbling across this.

I really hope their offerings are somewhat like what J Crew does. They charge you in usd, but cover the duties and often offer free or flat rate 8.95 shipping. Would make things a bit more expensive if they don't take care of the duties, customs, brokerage fees. Much like I'm guessing the situation would be with Nike, J Crew ships all their stuff from a warehouse in the states.

^ it would undermine canadian retail

and I'm glad it will. Why should we be offered inferior selection, often exaggerated mark ups and far fewer sizing options? I'm a 14 so this is a big deal for me.

If it takes a few dollars out of the pockets of sportchek, sporting life, champs Canada, etc, etc, I could care less. These are corporations, as long as people still make purchases it will still have a positive impact on the economy. I dont think Nike.com offering shipping will put any Canadian companies out of business.

Those saying it undermines Canadian retail... How? Footlocker Canada sells at MSRP like any Footlocker US does.

Nike shipping here will not be any cheaper than walking into Champs to scoop a pair. If the dollar improves, cross border will be the cheapest option as it has been for 20 years in Canada
