NT, convince me "cutting the cord" is a good idea

I know, I referring to the asker. Took no time to find those links with a simple search, unless he's saying those don't work for him.

lol the last one i posted has detailed picture by picture steps as well as a video i believe... I always find questions like this funny... When ppl ask for something so simple to find, cant find it...but have no trouble finding stuff like some goofball video on youtube..or the latest ratchetness on wshh

You guys are all morons. If you read my original inquiry, which is on this page, I was asking to install XBMC to Fire TV USING A MAC, i.e. downloading files in .dmg format that were made for Mac instead of PC and using terminal. So, it appears you are the idiots who don't do the requisite leg-work before posting.

plus i gave the link to xbmc wiki.... it has exactly what you asked in subforum on the same page....

http://www.xbmchub.com/forums/threads/21361-HOW-TO-Install-XBMC-on-Amazon-Fire-TV

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Devices

but if clicking on the sub forum is to daunting of a task... here it is exactly
Wow.. unbelievable.. I was simply asking in this thread if anyone has done it and if so if they had any tips, links they ALREADY USED AND HAD EASY ACCESS TO, etc. I wasn't asking for someone to do my research for me. I have seen all of what you guys claim to have found and it still is not very clear how to do the tasks on a mac.

Care to elaborate? This is entertaining at this point.

EDIT: Figured it out. Wanted to come post a video incase others are having the same troubles.

Those of you on the fence- BUY A FIRE TV. I have an apple TV 2, long held out to be the supreme xbmc device, and this does the same and twice the speed. Installation is super easy after watching the video. For >$90 you can drop cable and have every piece of available media at your fingertips.

Fire tv with xbmc.

The fire tv can be rooted now, so we should be able to do alot of other things soon. (custom roms, etc.)

Heres a link: http://www.firetvnews.com/how-to-root-the-amazon-fire-tv/

Also since the fire tv automatically downloads updates and installs them, you have to block the updates if you want to keep your root.

Link: http://www.firetvnews.com/how-to-block-ota-update-for-amazon-fire-tv-and-keep-root-access/

Also since its rooted you can now use the usb for external storage uses (only able to play media off usb and maybe save to the usb), though I havent tested it.

If I'm understanding everything correctly we can install XBMC on things(mainly looking at my Macbook Pro & Fire TV), then get add-ons like that NuviX & have streams to live TV shows? or is it something where you put a channel you want to see in & it takes you to that channel, the way cable works? & do you have to do anything special to XBMC to do this? I'm intrigued by this but not quite sure I understand what I'm getting myself into here. Also since I'd be using a Fire TV that isn't mine, if that person doesn't like XBMC can everything be restored to a previous date or something so I don't brick their box lol? I know absolutely nothing about a Fire TV

Best way to get an understanding of it is to dive right into it. Download XBMC (free) on your JB Iphone/ipad, Android device, or Mac/PC...its simple..install, download the hub wizard, and you'll have a fully config'd setup with all the popular addons

Free cable got a ***** feelin good. Free wifi even better.

But before I had free cable, I didn't have cable and just streamed everything

Anyone have a Gbox? I hear that's the best
nah def a mini pc... esp windows based. They have some as small as a cable receiver. x86 processors, high end graphic/sound cards. larger ram/rom. The ability to play cpu games/roms/apps etc right thru xbmc. 1080pc without any stutter, can play 3d content as well. Even an older mini pc will outperform any standalone ie atv, amazon fire gbox etc.... and it isnt even close.

Yo anyone know how to do anything on PS4.

I hate this dam system man, its the most useless machine ever. Im about to sell it and go back to PS3

cant even watch youtube :x :x :x

I tried that whole Plex media server thing and its buffers every 30 seconds.
