Guys, do NOT post information about piracy on here.  If you don't know a streaming source to be legal (and, let's be honest, if you're streaming premium channels and sporting events for free then you're almost certainly dealing with piracy), DON'T post it.

Violators will be banned.

Dish Network's Sling TV has gone live. Anyone try it out yet? Free 7 day trial

I'm going to be moving to a new apartment soon and don't plan on getting Comcast cable. Definitely interested in hearing reviews on the Sling TV.

where can i buy antenna / cable modem ?

amazon. motorola surfboard modem only runs like 65 cash. amazon has a good deal on a dual band router by asus as well.

anyways came to post this.

http://www.theverge.com/a/online-tv-stream-price-guide

a tool of sorts, but not a comprehensive one.

to be honest, i can't see any of these options together being a better deal than cable. comcast can offer deals in the 100 range for both internet and tv. and if u get your own modem thats 10 cash saved right there /month. and they almost always offer hbo for free for the duration of the deal.

HBO NOW just came out 3 months apple only and Sling, first month free. $15 per month get new game of thrones episodes.

I just have sling and hulu plus plex- LOVE IT only 20 bucks a month for everything I want to see

I want to get something similar for my parents but need access to channels such as Univision & Telemundo.

Any info?

Anyone have a Nexus Player? I hear Android TV isn't worth a damn, but I believe these can be rooted and wanted to know what more can you do once rooted? Debating on Copping or waiting to see if the Apple TV refresh is about something.

Just get a chromebox or mini windows pc. They're cheap enough and function better than androids.

Been using the Amazon Fire TV for months now and it runs flawlessly. Especially with Kodi. I ditched the cable box in my room now.

Mini pc is easier to install and multifunctional. Chromebox is just openelec.
It depends on your preference.  Me, I don't like running anything on top of what I intended my machine for, which is to be an HTPC.  Mini PC is like having bloatware on top of what you're trying to do.  Nothing is better for HTPC / Home Theater than OPENELEC.  NOTHING.   No drivers needed, kernal upgrades, just install and run.  It has Chrome Browser on there to surf.  It auto grabs ALL your files from your network, the speed, the reliability.  C'mon bro....mini PC for what? editing pictures after watching a movie?  I guess?

Also,  Openelec running Kodi w/all the addons is nothing like it.   What if I told you ......... PM me for test/trial accounts.

For the people that want something to work right out of the box and aren't computer savvy, dont wan't to make mods, mini pc is the way to go. Yeah it uses more resources to support the OS, but who cares? Running Kodi doesn't overload the system.
