NT, convince me "cutting the cord" is a good idea

Damnnnn and I think I'm spending a lot on my TWC bundle ($110) compared to $296. :wow:

I have been thinking about cutting off cable and home phone and just keeping the internet. I haven't done it since my parents watch TV more than I do.

At this point what can be a cheaper route for me? Since I'm paying for channels and movie channels I never watch. I already have Chromecast and mainly use Netflix.

Just read some of this thread, and wondering if the devices have changed or any updates? I was looking into purchasing a Nexus player for streaming since I wasnt really satisfied with Chromecast.

Any advantages on the Nexus player over any of the other? Apple TV isn't an option as I'm android oriented. Firestick being my second option.

I just signed up for the PS Vue free 7-day trial just to check it out and see how good it is. It's a pretty good cord cutter but you might be paying the same for a double play package. The lowest package starts at $29.99/month and internet usually costs $49.99/month.

The devices that PS Vue can be used for is PS3 or PS4 (obviously), Amazon Fire TV and stick and Chromecast through Apple.

Haven't Had cable in 2 years, best thing I ever did in my life.

Have Hulu to watch anyshow I want

Have Netflix for TV series or movies or the exclusives they drop.

Have a log in for ESPN to watch sports.

All for that under $30 a month.

Life can't get any better.

All on my Xbox One.

It can get better if you install Kodi. You get all the tv shows and movies available on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, whether exclusive or not for free.

Kodi is the goods, by Meth warned me about talking about it on here. Go on YouTube and you'll be good

Chromecast has been my best friend for the past two years, I use it to watch almost everything except sports.

im surprised...i don't see anything illegal about it. no different than listening to an artist's single on youtube.

It's borderline streaming. Similar to a PPV those channels are something you get for a paid subscription if you went the cable route. Since Kodi provides them for free, it is restricted to be elaborated upon.

Nada, I'm blessed with my neighbors optimum login and password, very strong connection, solid for about 1 year and half. But before that I was paying $50 for Internet with Time warner

I pay 108 with cablevision for cable and Internet and im getting ready to cancel and go with verizon internet for 49.99 and getting a jail broken firestick.

Ive watched a few YouTube videos and I think I know how to jailbreak it myself

I have a fire stick with kodi on it, but Idk wtf is wrong with it. Either nothing loads or the movie/show keeps stuttering endlessly.

Chromecast has been good money to me, but I need that sports fix.

Could be the Fire Stick and it's strength? The components under the hood is what made me choose the Nexus Player over the First Stick. I wanted the Nvidia box but that price is too rich for my blood right now.

Kodi doesnt offer live sports? Thats a deal breaker
It do just gotta know where to look

but keep it down, Meth dont like that kodi talk.

Any word when the Nexus Player will be released again? Sold out everywhere and I really don't want to buy any used ones with Kodi pre-installed on EBay.

Preciate the info but you may want to edit that..don't want to see anyone get axed. ii flash ii ii flash ii
