Here's why. Consistency. How many times have you gone into a thread and the title reads something like "UPDATE ON PAGE 17" only to go into it and notice there is no update on page 17. It's annoying. I don't think it's advantageous to have multiple choices in regards to POSTS PER PAGE. It just causes confusion. What is gained by giving people that option? You shouldn't have to employ math and guess the thread creator's default settings to figure out where content is. I don't care what the new standard POSTS PER PAGE is, but I think it should be the same across the board. There's no disadvantage to making all POSTS PER PAGE the same. It's the same content, just everyone would know where to find things.

I came in here thinking this was going to be some "its not that serious go outside" type thing....but i completely agree with you.

posting on page 1

In the threads that I manage, I direct people to post numbers now as opposed to page counts.

You are right, it's not that serious. It's just an inconvenience when going to a thread where there is information you want and you have to decipher which settings the OP is using.

gotta give meth credit, id be like screw this job

I'm not complaining. I'm not *****ing about this. Making the posts per page standard wouldn't hurt the content or anything. I just fail to see the advantage of confusion.

Wouldn't you agree that what you are doing is an exception though? Good on you for doing that, but in no way is what you are doing the norm.

No i agree so many times you get the "how do these fit" oh some one commented on it on page 116. Ok *goes to page 116* can't find it. Posts again asking for fit advice. Would cut down on some unnecessary posts thats for sure

Meh, you want the info? Go look for it and stop asking what's already been answered 35 times.

Or

If you're the OP post all updates on PAGE 1.

That's fine, man. Although I've not seen anyone else say they are using 50. I'd be fine with any number as long as it's the same across the board.

oops just realized im using a 30 per page lol. I remember when I first learned we could tailor it :wow:

Ok, but if the OP thinks that telling you what page the updated info is on will help you out, don't you think they are trying to eliminate people constantly asking for that info? Your post makes no sense.

I do agree that updating the original post makes the most sense, but that's not what usually happens.

Look, I'm not complaining at all. It's a suggestion to make the forum more efficient for everyone.

Dude is right.
Whatever the preference is there's no advantage to this being a setting that can be changed.

It's not always good to give people options.

Meth, thank you for this thankless job that you do.
It is appreciated.

Who actually goes and changes their post per page count though? That's on them.

And you know damn well no one is going back pages to find info unless its on the first page. Some people don't even like reading posts above theirs. I've seen many times "Sorry if this has been asked already..." when the question has been answered 4 posts before theirs.

Some of you complain about the most stupid **** it's not even funny.

but if the op of a thread changes page count and then says update on page x then it would be a different page for you so that screws you too

100 posts/page>>>

Man. I slightly see his point, but is it really that hard to check the page before if it's not on that one? Like, this is as first world of an issue as it gets
