Vince Staples...

Album flopped sales wise to the point that you can't even find his first week sales anywhere

, I'm hearing it was under shipped/hard to find however. I was hoping he would at least do 15k, maybe he did idk, it's just weird his sales numbers are nowhere to be found. I saw Hastings has it on sale online so I might cop another one.

The whole album has been on repeat for me tho these past few days. Took a lil bit longer than usual to grow on me for a Vince project but it has, Some of the best production on a rap album this year imo S/O to No I.D. and DJ Dahi. I just read a No I.D. interview were he was talking about how much fun he had making the album because the beats are really stripped down and different than the stuff he makes for everyone else.

Apparently the album has been getting rave reviews from the critics, has a 88 on Metacritic. He's not a singles/radio rapper so it looks like Def Jam pushed this out to all the journalist/critics hard as a strategy. They also have him on a media run doing hella interviews. Maybe it'll be a slow burn and gradually gain more sales as the year goes on from word of mouth, people seeing the reviews, interviews, etc.

I never understood this sort of complaint. Don't listen to the second album then? It would have only been 10 tracks.

This has such a Clipse "Hell Hath No Fury" feel to it. Loving this album. Will purchase.

Vince just doesn't have the Superstar potential. He's whatever to me. I don't really feel his stuff but he's been making moves and I see him everywhere on the Internet. Maybe "Summertime '06" will be one of those albums that will sell throughout the year and the word of mouth will get bigger and bigger.
 
Thats obviously a right now order & Vince is in my top 5 currently too. Dude is nice **** anyone says
